The problem is that I can bring my smartphone everywhere I go and do virtually anything with the tens of million of Apps available. But Vision Pro applications are very limited and the user experience on many Apps would definitely poorer than using your smartphone. I think Vison Pro may have a future, but such future could be another 10 years away until the headset can be reduced to the size of a pair of glasses where carrying it and wearing it will not be a burden.

I actually bought the xreal air 2 pro glasses, and been using it for a couple of days, ill tell you right now, its not perfect, but playing games and watching movies on them is just surreal, 120 inch micro oled display (1080p unfortunately)inside a 75 gram sun glasses is amazing, and wearing them doesn't make you look like you are from space. and sure they are expensive as well at $450 but its nothing compared to the price of the vision pro. also there is xreal beam which is an external device that can do spatial computing to make it so that the screen stays in place and increase the size of it to 300 inch. I have not tried it yet, so i can't tell if its any good. still for my use case it feels like a better deal than the vision pro.

I bought it and I’m not really a content creator, I do have 159k on IG but that’s for like jackass stunts type stuff so I won’t post about it on there. But I do plan on making a video for my channel with 30 subs mainly because that’s a channel I just post on for fun and don’t take it serious. But I bought one because I always wanted a really good AR device. I thought Microsoft holo lens was cool until I started to think more and more about how everything you see is see through. I personally like AR way more than VR because I’m not impressed with VR graphics, they break the immersion for me. But AR stuff has had me way more immersed. And plus all I do in life is watch tv shows and movies and I love 3d, I always was a huge believer in 3d. So for me this will be my new way to watch amazing 3d and normal movies along with tv shows.

I’m similar but would never fork out four grand for a good media viewing device. The device needs more time in the oven and while it cooks, maybe in a year or two we get the non pro version for half the cost and can offer the same viewing experience. I agree it’ll be great but imo not going to shell out 4k for this device and will wait for a more mainstream release. Being an early adopter always comes with a bigger price tag. And look at something like the quest pro. It was the best vr device on the market for a bit until the quest 3 released a year or so later and does much of the same at half the cost. Way more people are buying the quest 3 than ever did the pro and it’s just the mainstream release. Same will happen here. Gotta get the right version of the thing you want but there isn’t much to do if it isn’t out yet.

Guys, you can't compare the iPhone launch to the vision pro. The iPhone came out at a completely different time when we didn't have all these apps/services that we have today. Back then, it was fine for a big tech luxury product to release with no software because none of that existed yet. The iPhone was also able to be considered not only a luxury product but a necessity cause it was still a phone. The vision pro coming out is 1000 percent a luxury purchase. I also wanna state that all the software that wasn't around then is now around today. The software just has to be Ported over. However, it also doesn't matter how cool or how expensive your gadget is, if it doesn't have software for it.

This had failure written all over it. 1. Obviously the price point. 2. It will not reach a large enough market share for developers to exclusively develop for it ( I mean in a larger way) It's going to have a much smaller percentage of the market compared to something like a quest 3. If you want to argue it's gaming and entertainment are side components of its use I think that's absolutely fine, however, its productivity component for professionals and tech bros also makes less sense (outside of niche applications) because the mouse and keyboard are far more efficient at actually doing these things related to work. It works the same way with high-end PCs and AAA gaming. Developers need to make their games more accessible to general hardware to generate a larger profit. 4. Apple has a minimal track record with gaming in general and would require a large investment to get exclusive games ( that matter or breakthrough) to truly show off the awesome capability of the computer's actual power. Apple's most famous gaming is losing Halo to Microsoft like 25 years ago, they have no relevant experience and gaming easily becomes a money pit. 5. If Apple was serious about the gaming side of things there would be a controller of sorts. It's incredibly limiting without it, probably sold separately though 5. If the Vision Pro is truly about work and productivity then these goggles are even more of a fad. Work is about work flow and wearing the goggles for 9 hours a day immediately sounds miserable to your average person. Not to mention with an external battery pack and cable.

I tried one of these at the Apple store. I found reading interesting. Also, watching baseball was great as well as the nature videos. I was going to get one. I told myself I would wait until September. But no matter how many times I say that, I come back to telling myself it isn't worth it. What are ten big things you can do with the device that you can only do on it. I had a brain injury in 03 and was left with about 8% of my vision. So I cannot imagine watching an entire movie would be good for my eyes. For anyones actually. I have a Meta 3 for games. Which I rarely use. So, I would not watch movies or shows. I have a gaming heat set. I have a 32 inch Cintiq pro monitor to use with my Mac Studio and a 32 inch 4K Samsung TV. What in the hell would I need this headset for. As one who has been following tech for about twenty years, I understand it is a new release. Everything cannot just appear for the thing. But this is Apple. I would imagine they have the money are resources to make a handful of things for it. Yet, there really is nothing. So as exciting as it would be to buy the thing, after thinking about it for days and days, it just seems like a useless $3,500 device.

And now Apple releases their very expensive headset and suddenly everyone is like "OMG look at how amazing this is". I cringe with nearly all the comments I read under the previews on YT. People saying that 10 years from now everyone will be walking around wearing one because next generations will be tiny. Yeah right! I'm with VR since the Rift DK1 and that was 10 years ago. 10 years of technical development later and even a big Tech company like Apple can't come up with a device that's more than 50% smaller than that first developer Rift. It's not until they find a different way to project hi res images onto your retina when things can get smaller. And even then the rest of the device will have to go somewhere, powerfull battery included.
