as a guy/dude I got sick of seeing female products, and a non drinker I got sick of booze ads. and all the stores it recommends means I have to spend $20 to cross a boarded just to buy pany or jewerly I don't nedd from usa when i live in canada. and @35 why the hell was I getting retirement ads. and all the ads were geared to females. that's why I got ad blocker !!!
Just recently took steps to get off the google train. Switched to Librewolf a Firefox based browser more focused on privacy. Changed default search to DuckDuckGo and it seems to work just as well if not better. Moved email to Proton mail which gives the option when creating to forward your gmail to it to start, and I am working to move over my important stuff from gmail to it. After a little setup of importing bookmarks/passwords I have had no issue with anything.
i'm glad I started using Firefox recently
Cable: 22 minutes of content, 8 minutes of ads. KZread: 2 Minutes and 2 seconds of content, 3 minutes of ads.
Edge? That's how you know a lobotomy would improve brain function.
Ive started de-googlifying for quite a while and cut down my use of Google product to 2 Services like youtube which kinda everyone needs to use to watch basically unlimited content about anything Vimeo is rarely used for a reason. Can't wait for AI to advance more and just program any kind of digital service I require on the fly cause fucking hell we need it. (Before anyone goes on a tirade about "but the programmers oh no" tech changes and people need to adjust get used to it not like you care about the insane amount of jobs robotics took from the car industry stop being scared of some lines of code jesus christ.)
oh no this will be the end of my Google Pixelbook Go its still the number one device even my 14'' Macbook Pro is on the back burner 95% of the time
If it has a disc drive i dont care what it is as long as i can continue to play my physical collection.
Let’s go Bills!
2:38 is not this video in a nutshell but still…
Not even being a hater, quite honestly, I still don’t understand why anyone is still on chrome. Personally, I prefer Brave for its simple privacy and chrome like feel (also Brave search is awesome) but really anything is better than chrome these days. Of course most people aren’t just going to download ungoogled chromium or TOR but what happened to Firefox? There’s so much to love over there. Even with all their scandals, I would still prefer to use Opera over chrome because they actually offer something different. The list goes on.
You could use Brave. They have a shield built in that works very well. It is based on Chromium, with a lot of security features.
Kinsey with the Boss coffee I think this means Kinsey is the boss now
Screw KZread and whoever is doing this stuff to the Adblock. I pay for KZread red and because I don’t have the page whitelisted on opera I was having the connection to the videos either blocked or slowed heaps…. I am paying you KZread stick your bloody ads…
I watch youtube on Edge (chromium) because I "pay" by watching ads. But EVERYTHING ELSE I use Firefox because ads are like 99% scams/malware... even on youtube
Last weekend I got 5 ads in a row on youtube, back to back. Wtf
Just let Google, Microsoft and all the rest know how much you love all the ads and soon they'll want you to buy a subscription to watch ads.
I'm going to be switching everything: browsers, email service providers, search engines, and video hosting sites.
Proud user of firefox sence about 2005.
I tried to go back to Opera when Google first dropped they were doing this and holy hell the ads baked into that browser are obnoxious. Not to mention for the life of me, even with capping RAM usage the damn thing was almost as bad as Chrome with resource hogging and even had random slow-downs with KZread.
re: cookie popups outside of Cali. Yes those are a thing. I live in Oregon and EVERY DAMN WEBSITE I VISIT has it.
im getting 3 3min long ads consistently its outrages
I can't help but think how much better they could make KZread if those developers worked on making the platform better instead of fighting against the 1 percent of people who use ad blockers. It'd probably be more profitable, too.
I love that I got to see the LTT thing all play out in real time. One of those “where were you then” moments lol
I got a new not Asus laptop 2weeks ago and have not installed chrome on it. Getting used to the quirks and features of Firefox
I have chrome on my MacBook and my iPad, but there’s rarely an occasion where I open it and use it. Safari is sufficient enough and integrated so deeply and iOS that using anything else kind of seems stupid. Mainly because of Google support or should I say lack of support for their own password System that can’t be interchanged with Apple keychain passwords. So when I’m doing auto fill sign in, they just don’t work. And everybody doesn’t have passkeys yet.
ChatGBT will become the new search engine when people get fed up
For me, the most effective “ads” on KZread are sponsor spots from creators and their own merch and products. I haven’t bought a lot but I have more favorable impressions of these companies because I like the creators
Breakup Alphabet!
AI will never create a true buff wolfman that would capture the spirit of the pineapple in a hydraulic press.
This is why am subscripted to KZread premium
Web browsing is atrocious without an ad blocker. Maybe if ads weren't so intrusive, people wouldn't be driven to ad blockers.
Isn't Firefox owned by Google's parent company😅
Firefox is made by Mozilla Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the not-for-profit Mozilla Foundation. Source: Mozilla official website
There was a time where any tech nerd worth his Sailor Moon collection praised and exalted the mighty Chrome browser. But I guess it's true what they say. The hero has lived long enough to become the villain.
IF they would sell it for like $1000 or less it would be great. But as is the market isn't there.
What do you guys think of the Opera browser? I've been using Opera GX for a while, and enjoy it. It has a built in ad blocker and some VPN functionality.
omg, matt is on the money. i bought a scooter online, and got bombarded with ads for that company on yt and websites after the fact. wtf?
If you don't wish to use something like Firefox but still stick to Chromium based browsers, one's like Brave are sticking to Manifest v2. You just have to find out what browsers aren't switching to Mv3. Personally, I switched to Firefox a while ago and haven't had any issues outside of some WebGL apps that I rarely use not working.
if alphabet embedded ads in the videos that i could fast forward through, cool. i wont watch them still, but they still get revenue, wouldn't they?
I’ve been using brave since last year because it blocks ads and it doesn’t stalk you like google and chrome does. I recommend it if you want to change search. Also I like your vulpix plush
Just use Brave. Fuck Goolgle
Even though Brave is a fork of Chromium but its heavily customized
Ive been exclusive to Safari since Apple introduced Continuity. I know others had similar features but that worked for me and I found I got less mess on safari. I only use chrome when things don't seem to be working right in safari like for a certain chat window in a class im in or something like that. Very rare
KZread becoming anti-consumer doing this dick move. Little they know, some ads seem legit but will carry malware! Remember the popups back in the day? I use Brave browser, and it does well for what I need it to do. The long unskippable ads that ruin the experience of KZread
I only use chrome cause rtx upscaling only works on chrome
Why is Kinsey so cute??
It should be illegal to block an ad blockers , under supreme court law it is
Yeah the cookie pop-overs are everywhere AFAIK. I believe the EU also has laws about that so it's just easier to show it to everyone instead of trying to determine their location and possibly be in violation if you guess wrong and don't show it.
switched to safari cuz i dont like what google is doing
3 ads?! I had 2 30 second ads every 2_3 minutes! It was unwatcheble. I had no idea what the video was about.
20 minute video with 3 x ads at 1-2 minutes each = 18 minutes of ads an hour minimum. Normal TV - 3 ad breaks in an hour - 5 minutes each = 15 minutes of ads an hour. Not equivalent.
