Do you think this adapter is good for camaras and microphones?

Is there an option for ipad pro? My usb-c input is used up connecting a usb mic. Nowhere for headphones to go? I'm trying to use garageband but now cant monitor. Cheers Sean

Yes it should work fine. Just go to System Preferences -> Sound then select the headset as the output device under "Output and Input".

Not really. Connect your external hard drive directly to your Mac using a USB-C to Micro-B cable. It will be faster and a lot cheaper than this adapter.

Can I connect pen drive

I have this adapter and just got a new M2 MacBook Pro. The HDMI port doesn't appear to work for my monitor with the adapter, but does work on the MacBook's HDMI port. Have you been able to confirm this?

I've used the adapter with an M1 MacBook Air, M2 Mac Mini, 12" Intel MacBook and 15" Intel MacBook Pro. The HDMI worked with them all, so I have no idea why it wouldn't work with your M2 MBP.

Does this work as an In HDMI to play switch games on the MacBook?

No. The HDMI port is for video output, not for input.

can i use this on an android phone if i connect it to the phone and plug in the hdmi to tv

I have used it before for that purpose. I ran Dex on a Samsung S20 FE

Not sure why the usb-c port will not charge my iPhone. That is pretty much all I can think of for using that port otherwise it is a pretty useless port.

How come when I connect the HDMI it shows the display on the tv but there is no sound on the tv only in my Mac

Go to System setting -> Sound and then change the output device from "internal speakers" to your TV.

@@davidyepez3464 Can I ask you and/or @Bartech TV , does this adapter as shown in this overview definitely output the video (image) from the Mac display as well as the Mac system audio over the HDMI cable between the adapter and a standard modern tv (with HDMI input and its own built-in speakers)? A significant use case for me will be to use a MacBook Air to output videos playing from Safari web browser from the MacBook Air to my tv and I’d like to watch and hear both the video and audio playing through only the tv - not the MacBook Air speakers. Thank you

Use the j5create HDMI adapter or Onn surf HDMI adapter. You will be 90% that it will work. Apple Accessories are mainly only for Apple products.

Awful limitation of the usb-c conector…. Why just for charging the Mac? And where is the Ethernet’s connector RJ45? Agree with Apple’s option is expensive and the Ugreen option is the better one!

Theoretically USB 3.0 5Gbps (approx 500MB/s) but it gets nowhere near that in use.

Why not simply use a USB-C cable with a HDMI plug on one end and a USB-C plug on the other end?

Because such an adapter doesn't have pass-through charging or USB-A ports.

@@BartechTV The point of my question is to say that the adapter has no advantage when compared to a normal cable, in terms of resolution and scaling.

IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE AV CABLE

Adapter is pure garbage, it gets hot and it breaks monitor sync and in my case usb keyboard sync all the time. I've bought 3 of them. Everything from apple these days sucks compared to everything elese.
