Apple's Vision Pro Will KILL Repair - Here's How!

Ғылым және технология

The Apple Vision Pro will KILL 3rd Party Repair - and THIS is why. Watch to have a better idea of what the future could look like.
With the Vision Pro launch coming near, the future of industries are without doubt going to see change. Here's a technician's perspective on a new era of technology.
This technology will exponentially improve, and as pointed out by Marques Brownlee and team on the Waveform Podcast, this will be geared at DEVELOPERS - and as a first generation product, there's a lot of improving to do. It isn't perfect in any way, but the Vision Pro definately is a step into the Ready Player One future most of us fear.
This isn't an Apple Vision Pro Unboxing, or WWDC 2023 - this is WHY the Apple VIsion Pro will KILL Repair.
This video was made in 2 tries - the first try at the beginning of February, and as that video was being wrapped up, Apple released new information and videos. Of course, these videos had me super curious, and I thought it would be a disservice to NOT talk about the glass and glue, apple care etc.
Thank you so much for your time, and if your still reading this, your insanely attractive lol.

It still baffles me that Apple is able to sell phones with 60Hz displays to consumers for $900-$1000... People are victims of marketing.

Yeah, it’s actually insane. Up until 13 series, Apple never used high hz on any phones. Well said

lol @ the front thingy being glass - it actually even worse. Its glass covered in plastic (apple calls it laminated glass but given the order of materials its actually laminated plastic) . So it can be scratched as well as brake. That's double the probability of it getting trashed.

YES! My jaw dropped at the teardown videos - it’s similar to the Galaxy fold phones which are ‘technically’ glass - but scratch way too easily

@@HarryKwastaken didn't steve jobs make the first iphone plastic at the front, saw all the scratches, and decided to use glass, and deciding to use gorilla glass which was a resistant glass with no use at the time, so it didn't break, now iphones fall and not only does the front break, the back does too, no way to repair it under 500 dollars, and now apple made the apple vision pro plastic, on the outside apple is evolving backwards

Some owners also experiencing cracked front-covers allegedly without having dropped the AVP, probably due to different heat-expansion capabilities of the different materials (aluminium expands a lot more than glass).

Really great video! Short and to the point, and puts a spotlight on something really big. When I was on the phone with Apple service for the Vision Pro order, he asked me if I wanted to include Apple Care with that. I laughed, because who in their right mind would pay 500 USD for 2 years. It's even worse than what you say in this video, because this 500 USD Apple care means repairing the screen will cost you LESS but NOT nothing. Will still be a few hundred USD. I'd rather have a big dorky screen protector thing on it than risk having to use Apple Care. BTW they sell screen protectors for this on AliExpress already for a couple bucks.

I thought you were gonna say its going to kill the repair industry because it will show you how to repair anything step by step as you look at it. Like the AR will point to the next nut you have to take off your car Or show you the next step in the plumbing repair you are doing.

There’s a case to be said for both sides here. 1. Vision PRO is cutting edge tech (hence the “jam packed” tech you are complaining about. It what makes these glasses industry leading. 2. Eventually repairers will catch up to this tech. It’s a function of time. 3. Being this difficult to temper/fix means it’s secure when in the hands of nefarious folk. 4. You complaining… forces Apple to make some concessions where and when they can.

@@HarryKwastaken I am inclined to agree that VR headsets in particular are just difficult to repair because they're not made with repair in mind. Like the Rift S for example, it's outdated now, but it's also impossible to repair, the parts aren't even sold to repair it.
