Apple picking at Green Mountain Orchards in Putney Vermont, USA by Caleb Achy Dad Clark

What a day picking apples at Green Mountain Orchards! Please "like" this video (if you do) and subscribe to my channel here if you: goo.gl/2ouayb. This video was filmed at www.greenmountainorchards.com/ late in the season on Oct 30th, but the kids and I still find a few trees FULL of yummy Cortland apples. Then we go to the hill and sun ourselves before heading down for a cider donut. I then drop my camera and the video ends with that shot.
To find out more about the Vermont apples in this video, including the difference in the varieties, visit the Vermont Tree Fruit Growers Association here: vermontapples.org/all-about-a...
For those living far away from apple trees, I did find a Vermont company called "Vermont Village" (vermontvillage.com/) that sells Vermont-made, organic, no sugar added applesauce. I have not tried their product, but it looks solid to me. Their "Vermont Village - Organic Applesauce Unsweetened - 4 x 4 oz. Cups (Pack of 2)" is on Amazon at: amzn.to/2RsyBWq
Green Mountain Orchard's own apple pie recipe is here: www.greenmountainorchards.com...
Personally, I like to leave the skin on though.
A good Vermont Cheese can be had here at Grafton Cheese company's site: www.graftonvillagecheese.com/
Vermont pure 100% maple syrup from a good farm in Vermont is here: amzn.to/3k1p0on
You can also get raw and organic Vermont made apple cider vinegar here: amzn.to/2FthiED

~ ABOUT ~
My wife and I are both educators. I focus on Educational Technology in K12 and Higher Education. We try and live a simple, sustainable, tech-savvy, and eco-friendly lifestyle in a medium town in Vermont, USA.
We focus our middle-class income on education, nature, healthy food, and community. We try and create a family environment with very little commercial-laden media, while also using high tech and high-quality media to teach our kids and be entertained. We use a lot of streaming services and don’t have Cable TV. Striving for these goals involves a lot of “debate” between my wife and I. She’s in charge of keeping me from exposing the family to too much technology/media exploration and study. I’m in charge of pushing to understand and learn about how to use technology’s immense power for good and beat our kid’s friends to exposer and education about media, games, KZread, etc.
We live in a medium-sized town, in an old medium-sized house, on a medium-income. For those from afar, Vermont is located in the northeast part of the United States above New York City. Every year we have Summer’s heat and humidity, Fall’s colorful leaves, Winter’s snow, ice, freezing rain, hail, sleet, flurries, nor’easters, and freezing drizzle, followed by Spring’s melt mud madness. We are surrounded by trees, rivers, lakes, fields, and mountains. Vermont is known for its high-quality cheeses and Maple syrup, a tasty sugar liquid made from boiling down the sap that runs inside Maple trees when they are getting ready to make new leaves in the Spring.
