There’s an issue, It says The library could not be opened ( “Photos Library.photoslibrary” is in iCloud Drive, and needs to be moved to a folder on your Mac to open. ) Please how can I fix this issue, it happened after I updated my Mac

Thanks.I have repaired my iMac photo library. The issue is that my Photo no longer find faces? Any idea what the problem can be.

So my picture libraries that I dragged and dropped from a Time Machine back up from my older computer, seems like some of the pictures on there are blank, but still has the information in it. and some videos are missing thumbnails on the video, how do I fix that?

Hi @BigCountrySo-CaL619. Did you just navigate to the files directly on the Time Machine backup, or did you actually recover the library from the Time Machine software? Did you take the whole library or just the folder containing pictures? What is your main goal? To move old Photo library from the Time Machine backup to a new Mac? @@Learnwithjoel I just went through my old Time Machine backups hard drives,, from different computers I used to have, and just dragged the picture library, into my new computer picture library folder.

I have my photo library in a external SSD format like Mac OS Extended but Every time I stop using the Mac for a week and I want to open the library I have the same problem , do you know why?

I have a Mac photo library which was my iCloud library till I accidentally did a mess and delete all my pics from iCloud (recently deleted) to free up some space, now I have this library on my Mac with all my pics but the file are partially missing (I think) is there a method to repair this files to have my library back working 100% ??? It would be a lifesaver

not working for me on a 2021 14' MacBook Pro M1, keeps saying (The library "Photos Library.photoslibrary'' failed to be repaired). I've created multiple library's and install fails to open any of them can someone please help

I wish my issue was so easy. It's both some photos and videos in my photo library, declaring the videos as unsupported format despite being fine before. Created and uploaded from my iPhone. If I do a Time Machine restore, it shows +1TB of photolibrary, then after iPhoto reconstructs, it is down to 0.6TB. The thumbnails of the affected files look like a ghost in the iPhotos albums. But this is a good video for others.

I opened another empty library on the hard drive and when i tried to open my photos i could not reach them. Did the mac erase all my photos? How it be recovered? Thank you.

Great video! but i wish it worked for me, still won't load any of my old videos from 2018-2020 from my old iphone. its very frustrating as i thought all my videos were saved here so i didn't think to save them anywhere else. Now they're all gone! smh, Thanks Apple!

@@Ohhkniaa no but randomly I got a couple of them to load but like 5% of what I wanted. Just got a new phone and decided to keep my old phone instead of trading it in so I can figure out a way to get all my stuff on my own hard drive

I'm going to try this but if Apple could not fix problem will this? I lost all ability to use albums which disappears when trying to upload a photo say to Facebook or Market Place or any other websites. Apple said to drag from Library and I'm like it takes forever to find a photo when you got 7000! I do not have the cloud. Has anyone experienced this before? Thank you.

Hi @calgreco8607! So when they say "Drag from Library", that could be a little challenging and misleading. Yes, some website do allow you to Drag a photo/file from a location on your Mac to a webpage after an upload prompt, but it could be confusing. Here's what I do. If I'm uploading files to a social media site or a website of something, I always just drag a photo out of Apple Photos to my desktop. This makes a copy of the photo on your Mac and still keeps it within Apple Photos. From there I navigate to Facebook, or any other site and choose "Upload" and then navigate to my Desktop location and choose the file/photo from there. After it's uploaded, I delete from the desktop. If you're planning ahead and don't want to upload at a particular moment, you can organize and add photos into an Album and then do the same thing when you're ready to post. Whether you're using iCloud or not, this should be irrelevant. The Finder on your Mac is your BEST FRIEND. Know how to use it inside and out! I hope that helps! THANK YOU so much for watching! My photos automatically launches Photos Repair every time I restart the computer. I do have 110,000 photos and it takes hours. Any advice, or ideas?

Hi @DesertCharleyVideos! Do you have Apple Photos set to "Open on Login"? When you first start up your Mac and it launches Photos repair, have you quit Apple Photos and tried to run the repair after that? Has the repair ever been successful? Do you use iCloud Photos? I have HUGE issues with dates that are adjusted as i organize my 12k photos Such as some are showing 20 yrs off Or even 2023 Turns into yr. 23 only I wanna scream
