The thing about mx master 3 is it keeps waking up my mac (latest Monterey), preventing it from going to sleep. It’s been 5 months now and no one can give me a solution.

There has been an issue with Monterey and Logitech Bluetooth devices, really only solution is to use the USB dongle, until Apple adds the "Allow Bluetooth Devices to wake this computer" option back... Or try to regularly update the Logitech MX3 software until a fix arrives

Dongle up my man. Use the receiver. It’ll make your logitech equipment blazing fast and work exactly as you expect it to work.

what i do is keep the mouse upside down for sometime and then back up again, which usually solves the problem

I just turn off every time mine.

The most important part about the Apple Trackpad is all the supported gestures you can do there. Many things like switching among full-screen apps or different desktops, using smart zoom, Open Mission Control, or App Expose and any mouse cannot replace them. There are other gestures I'm not mentioning here because I consider they can be replaced by a mouse. For those reasons, I'll keep using Trackpad

You can do that with MX Master 3 as well as you can do and add many gestures in it , but the problem is with the horizontal scroll when you do video editing. MX Master 3 has the scroll but it is too slow and inconvenient at all as it will leave your wrist numb after using a bit, so in the end the Trackpad wins for that.

there’s an app called mac mouse fix that allows the scrolling inertia you’d fine on mac trackpads and mouse and you can customize the side buttons (MB4&5) for gestures

In short time your are going to blow up. You have great quality video very clear and very well edited videos straight to the point and very likable… keep it up bid👌🏻

Im a trackpad guy because i use my Macbook Pro as my daily computer so going from my Macbook to a desktop set up, using a mouse is too jarring

You’d be surprised how many people just use exclusively a laptop and never a mouse! I feel like some people don’t think about that haha. At least your MacBook Pro has one of the best trackpads in the industry 😄

@@SideofTechmacbook’s trackpad is no joke. Been using MBP 2015 trackpad now upgraded to MBP 2020 still using the trackpad lol.

something that always overlooked in these videos is space! The advantages of a mouse are limited when you don't have the adequate space to move around! I bought the trackpad and it's such a drastic change in convenience!

Yes you can use it while it's plugged in to charge. It's basically a wired mouse at that point.

I’ve realized that using the Trackpad AND mouse in tandem has been an amazing fluid experience. I have the Magic Trackpad to the left of my keyboard and use it mostly for gestures then I use the mouse for standard. The true king of this debate is use BOTH, it works great! You do need desk space if you do, but it is very much worth the fluidity

mkbhd has that set up, it is one I have been doing for years and In don't know how more ppl don't use the computer this way, I can't imagine just having a mouse only now especially when the mx master has programmable buttons too and then the gestures of the track pad..ALL AT THE SAME TIME!! ppl need to get on our level

I have the mx master 3 for mac, problem i find, that the oily buildup and fingerprints really start to show on heavy use, it almost looks dirty after a long workday, i end up wiping it clean constantly, it really bugs me, wish they used some different material, not soft that retains every oil you get on your palm. Lime buttons shine at this point, from use, the left and right click ones. Im thinking of ditching it for the trackpad if i am honest.

Totally get it, usually you get this kind of oil buildup with cheaper ABS plastics which is probably what they’re using. Gotta save money in certain places!

How comfortable the mouse cursor movement in your ultra-wide monitor using magic trackpad? What do you prefer in this case? I have a 38 inch LG monitor.

I have used both and for me it's the magic trackpad. I work in MacOS and Windows via Parallels, and without the quick gestures to swap desktops, my productivity really suffers. I've also found that the trackpad is much better for my wrist and the mx master would create tension in my wrist...this is obviously my own unique physiology which is why the trackpad is the winner *for me*! Great, fair, informative review!

I realize this is old, but it doesn't sound like you have used a product you're criticizing. The MX Master 3 can switch desktops without taking your hand off the mouse.

I’m not trying to replace my mouse. I’m cool with a Apple magic mouse. I just want to know if they trackpad is good enough to run along side my mouse.

It's all fun and games until you install better touch tools and unlock the trackpad (and magic mouse 2) secret powers.

When I started working from home during the pandemic, I got so used to using my Macbooks trackpad that when I went back to a traditional mouse it felt like relearning to ride a bike. The Magic Trackpad is the best option for myself 😊

Nice content and pro shooting clip, Bro! For me, I use both and my table peripheral setting up is gonna be: trackpad on the left, keyboard in centre and MX Master 2S on the right. If you are busy to do the computers tasks and want to be quick with the best movement, try to use it with both side while not typing. Adjusting, move file, click on the right spot, easily as you name it.. They are perfect couple🤔👌. Talking about the price, I have to add more cost to MX 2s which is for buying the Delta Hub Carpio (29.9pounds) as it is quite uncomfortable to use without the wrist rest. One more thing for your structure, I think you would better to make your clips in parts seperately so I could be easier to follow or jump in from the viewers. Peace! 🤟

Yeah, I use both as well. Trackpad on left, Logitech MX Keys in the middle, and MX Master 3 mouse on the right. Keyboard and mouse switch between my Mac and Windows laptops using Logitech Flow software, and when forced to work on the Windows laptop I use the laptop trackpad just behind my Apple Magic Trackpad. Both the Logitech mouse and Apple Trackpad are core enough to my workflow that if one is gone I really, really miss it.

I am using both. MX Master 3S for Games like Minecraft and the trackpad for the rest.

i love my Magic mouse for my ipad. the only downside is that the cursor moves quite slow on the screen, even on the fastest setting. does the cursor move faster with the Magic trackpad ?

to me mouse takes much less energy to use than touchpad. even when i travel with my laptop, i always bring a mouse with me to use. when i use a mouse i don't get hand and finger fatigue, but when i use touchpad i do.

You can always adjust it in the software so that it moves faster but yes if you buy it stock it definitely moves slow!

Hello! With the newest update, the MacOS has been having a lot of Bluetooth problems for me. I would still suggest the MX 3S as it works perfectly with the PC and you can easily switch between Mac and PC, the only thing you have to think about is Bluetooth connection issues between the Mac. What I’ve personally been doing is running a gaming mouse for my Mac and a separate one for my gaming PC. Excessive I know but this is what’s been working for me and it’s been great!

Unfortunately I’m not very familiar with the PC market in terms of trackpads. I do know the Apple Magic one does work on it but you won’t have some of the gestures built in due to the OS. Hopefully Microsoft can make one that’s ideal for PC sometime soon 😄

Who uses a Mac? How is the track pad with a PC?

I prefer the trackpad and that is, I don't need a mouse. With the MX mouse I need HOLD and MOVE a heavy thing and that is bad.

what about mx master 3 issues? a lot of people seem to be having issues with the scroll wheel...I don't want to risk into getting a mouse which works worse than a $3 mouse...

Sadly yes. Since the newest update of macOS it’s been so bad! I’ve actually converted over to a gaming mouse 😓

I have both and I have the same issue where I want to like the trackpad, but I end up using my MX Master 3S more often. I also have to disagree on the ergonomics, dragging and dropping is a pain with the trackpad.

The MX Master's rubber coating turning sticky after a year is horrible and screams, "Buy Another". I like you can buy a Magic Track Pad from five years ago and it can still look and feel 'new'.
