Seems to me a better title would be “Five Real Issues with Black Magic Camera App.” I know the native camera app doesn’t give us the level of control we see in the Black Magic app - but it seems working with it solves most the problems outlined here. Thanks for the great video!

I actually saw dropped and double frames in the native app as well... Welcome)

I know BM app you have more control BUT I have better results using the native app. The final image looks better and I don’t have to do fiddle with the settings too much. Just my experience

What about apple log to rec.2020 pq or hlg, does that also have red tint

Man... Why not use android phone with motioncam pro and rec in RAW DNG... Or proress without any problems?

What's stopping Apple from making the default look of iPhone videos natural - like the LOG footage + the proper edit? Instead, they go for the overdone look you've shown in other videos, which doesn't play nice with just about anything you're shooting... Really irritating. And I don't buy the "they want the videos to be social media ready" argument, because nowadays everyone edits their TikTok and IG videos anyway. Plus, I'm positive people would actually notice and appreciate a more DSLR look. I hope they start dialing back the processing as the sensors grow in size. IPhone 16 Pro is getting a 1/1.4 primary. IPhone 17/18 Pro should have a 1-inch primary.

the title of the video is misleading, you are only talking about issues with black magic camera app!

Most of those issues are applicable to Apple log in general, including other 3rd party apps and the native app

You have to change the title to “5 real issues of BlackMagic Camera App”. I personally shot Apple Log wit the native app and 0 issues.

Aside from enormous file sizes, inability to set WB, ISO and shutter speed, not able to preview the image with the LUT and still having dropped and double frames occasionally - really zero issues)))

@@NOlimitsONAlways tradeoffs 😉 with the native app you get access to 2X lens setting and far superior stabilization and at least 4 out of five of your listed concerns are addressed…
