Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera Video Test

Last time I brought you a Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera video test in ProRes LOG. This time I want to show people what an average person would achieve with just the iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera by themselves with no special equipment. Everything is shot handheld so no grips or cages used. Just like how a normal person would record. Is this good enough to capture your family memories with? How would you feel watching this back years later? Is the quality better than you expected?

You could get these exact results from the iPhone 15 Pro as well just minus the 5X zoom shots which do make a major difference in Cinematic feel due to the 120mm perspective. Is this more of a realistic iPhone 15 Pro Max camera video test than shooting in ProLog? What do you think of just the point and shoot video quality? Do you need to take your DSLR or mirrorless with you or is this good enough?

iPhone stills are not the best though.

It is 4K 30fps as a base and 4K 60fps footage is used for slow motion (50%).
No need for any other camera..... a good camera phone is more than enough. Tokyo Disney is such an amazing place!
Who needs LOG?
Is your entire video done with enhanced stabilization? Not done in action mode??? Because the video is stable enough.
Can the S23 Ultra do this ?
If you can afford a quality mirrorless, you have the ultimate photo and video device for sure. It won't fit in your pocket though. And what these flagship phones give us is the best pocket sized camera system you can possibly carry. And BOY are these things good. We are so lucky to be living in an era of such stunning tech.

I don't take ANY bulky camera with me anymore, even not for the "Festival of Lights". 😂 A bulky camera involves a tripod at night. I'm doing that just every few years for 1 single shot for making a Christmas card. Besides that my cameras are becoming dusty.

1500 bucks and still not able to afford zeiss lenses. Lens flare is atrocious. But everything else is great.

Agree, they cheap out on lenses.
What I really like about the videos coming from an iPhone is that you can really forget that it is coming from a phone. No artifact, no jiggling focus, just a smooth and balance video. Personally I prefer you log modified video, but this will do it for the every day person.
The video-quality is close to TV-quality, taken with cameras of €/£/$ 50,000 and above! 😃👍 That should be enough for private consumers. And if someone wants a few % of more dynamic, saturation and sharpness you can adjust some sliders, most often even on the phone. 😉
