Appendix Carry vs Strong Side

Which carry position do you prefer? Is there a right and wrong answer? Of course, everyone will have an opinion on this, and many of those opinions will carry zero data to support anything they say. But that's the beauty of America, every asshole can have an opinion.
And to state my opinion, there is no right answer. Situations, your training, weather, comfort, vehicles......many considerations will determine what the best carry option is for you in any given situation.

I tend to be a strong side carrier. I have tried appendix but it tends to be uncomfortable and hard to get used to. I use it on occasion when the setting warrants appendix. The 2 biggest advantages to appendix carry is concealment is easier, and the draw in a given situation “tends to be quicker”. This is all subjective. The video does shed light on some truth. Despite appendix carrying having many advantages, there are some deadly disadvantages. It’s all preference and there is no holy grail for carrying. Great video!

I don't think there can be one right answer for the same reason there is no one perfect gun. I daily carry appendix. I carry strong side when comfort is priority over concealment. Solid points on the dynamic nature of a real life encounter. No matter how you do it, the guy who trains to be dynamic will almost always be faster and more effective than the guy who doesn't.

Greate content. Another thing to consider for both styles of carry are injuries. I am a lefty and normally carry strong side but I have a nagging left shoulder injury that aches when I reach backward for my piece. Appendix carry eliminates that deep backward movement of my shoulder and lessens the pain. So I have been considering adjusting to AIWB carry.

Extremely informative. Whether appendix is better or not, as a small slim woman, my body shape does not do well with the gun there. So I carry my Shield at 4:30 with as much cant as my holster will allow.

Cross draw seems to have so many benefits including drawing a concealed weapon going unnoticed and in prone or seated positions, if you look at real situations of conflict that's important because most situations I've seen were not brawls but instead people waiting for the right opportunity or drawing immediately when seeing a threat. If you have a gun on display like police strong side seems to be the way to go

Please do not read as though it is coming from a harsh tone - my tone is very casual "tea time" and based on two decades of gunslinging on The Job. Dude - you're left-handed and doing a left-handed draw from the crotch, not an actual cross-draw. Flip it. Buy (or use) a left hand holster, and sling it to *right-side* of your belt buckle. Then do a true left-hand low-tuck, cross draw and fire. Frankly, it is like grabbing and pointing your junk... "Point and piss" if you will... In close, it works. @ 2:00 - Beardly dude hammers in on the basic level body movements for a *right-hand* cross draw that I am alluding to. (And then he suddenly goes Ninja, and shows up quickly armed and ready! 🤣 Camera angle.) But, I digress. *Keep your elbows in!!!* Reach, draw, tuck and trigger - fast. You're in close body contact - it ain't about trigger control at that point... It's about pumping rounds into the body as fast as you can, and then making distance.

before the liveleak website went down there were numerous videos of off duty Brazilian cops that took down armed robbers appendix carry and like bro said and from what i seen they would either strong arm or act innocent and turn around just fast enough to draw that gun,in my opinion accidents happen but i feel like you need to find what works for you and not what someone else is telling you.
