Appalachian Trail Hike | Carvers Gap to Grassy Ridge Bald | Full Moonrise!
The AT runs 2,180 miles (3,508 km) crossing through 14 US states between Georgia and Maine. In this video, join us as we explore a short but beautiful section of the trail. We begin at the Carvers Gap trailhead and head north, wandering through a magical forest and traversing along a ridge with magnificent views across the mountains of both North Carolina and Tennessee. The hike is 4.7 miles out and back, reaching its highest point at Grassy Ridge Bald at 6,165 feet (1,879 meters). We returned to end the day watching the full moon rise over the mountains from our cozy cabin.
