Had a stint with the panthers and smashed my ex 🙃🤷🏾‍♂️

This was not only huge for App State but for the entire town of Boone, NC. We partied for months after this and then won the title and partied some more! Its one of my proudest moments for my hometown.

This was considered one of the greatest upsets in sports history but make no mistake about it, App St. was a very good football team.

I was in elementary school and this was the 2nd season of football I ever watched.

I was there for this game. It was almost silent when the clock stopped, like everyone was in disbelief of what just occurred

I am a Buckeye big time. Thank you Appy State for one of the best football days of my life. That was so great.

I actually saw this happen live on TV back in 2007! It was quite a spectacle!

That season was the season of upsets.

I'm a two time Michigan grad, 40 year season ticket holder and have been a fan for 55 years. I was home on the day of this game recuperating from an illness. Glad I missed this one! Hats off to Appalachian State on this win! In retrospect it was an exciting game and as a college football fan, the Appalachian State team played the game of their lives! I loved the reactions of former players and the joy they had in rewatching the game.

I remember watching my roommate during this game and seeing him completely loose his shirt during this game. Even to this day when I mention this game he breaks down. Hard to believe it’s been over 10 years!

Michigan in 2007: I can't believe we lost to these guys! How embarrassing! Michigan in 2021: I can't believe we almost beat these guys! That would have been amazing!

I am from Sweden this is the game when I fell in love with College football when I moved to the States. Never give up. Any given day the underdog can beat the elites. Crazy thing is Michigan has the most wins all time still in College Football History.

Yep. Zeb Spier. His dad is now the coach at WCU. There were 3 future D1 head coaches on that staff. Mark Spier, Western Carolina current, Shawn Elliott Georgi State current, and the HMIC himself Scott Satterfield. Mark was D-backs coach and recruiting coordinator, Shawn was o line coach, and Satt was the QB coach. I think it was his last year there until he came back in 2011 or 2012 as the OC.

To be fair: Penn State had better overall coaching in 2018 compared to 2007 Michigan. The better Penn State coaching is the biggest reason they stopped App St when Michigan didn’t

I'm a Buckeye fan and watching this was a thing of beauty. I hauled steel out of Detroit area a lot going back down to Ohio and when I heard the team up north signing App State whom I've watched throughout the previous season, I knew it would be a great game. Alit of u of m fans never heard of App State and they thought it was gonna be a blowout and I would tell them about the Mountaineers. This was the start of a bad season for the big 10. Mudway through the season, Minnesota hosted a very little known North Dakota State team that just moved up to fcs from d2 and they we're running the show, and that year NDSU put everyone on notice as they beat Minnesota

Any given Saturday. This was an amazing win and it gives me chills just watching it. Good for them!

I was unaware of the quality of this football program until this past Saturday when the Mountaineers came into State College, and nearly beat Penn State. Well done App State. I am now a fan. A lifelong Penn State fan

MSU fan here for my yearly watch. Rooting for a spot in the ACC for App State during the next realignment.

Andrew Ingram I was at the Wake game. App got screwed. They actually made the game winning field goal, BUT the refs made them take an offside penalty on the make and the second got blocked.

I remember watching it live. One of the most live experience I will never forget

I remember trying to find this game on my cable system, on line, streaming, what have you. App State’s coach prepared his squad well at the half, telling his players to expect what was coming and to be ready.

I swear I never get tired of watching this. Every time feels like the first time. Can’t imagine what it’s like for the players involved…

I’m a UNC fan at heart but I knew players the coaches and always support App. I love App State and man this game was insane and will beforever the best upset in college history

Grew up in Boone and graduated from App (91). One of my buddies tried to get me to go to the game with him and a bunch of friends. Told him there was no way I was going all the way to Michigan to see App lose. He was the guy in the yellow striped coveralls. One of my biggest regrets.

First ever Michigan game I went to and never going to forget it.

I was a month shy of turning *9* at the time! I was heartbroken to learn that my favorite college football team was beaten by some college football team I had never heard of until then. I'll never forget hearing the call, which was played at the end of this video, on SportsCenter.

That’s a bad ass stories love teams like this that no one thinks they have anything for a team like Michigan and they come in and fight harder then they do and come out with a W 👍🏻

And THAT is why they play the game, folks!! Because on any given day, something miraculous can happen.

Personally, the best game i've watched in my 23 years of life. I knew for damn sure who armanti edwards was after this game and still follow him because of this (plays on toronto argonauts)

Not mentioned would be Brian Quick WR, currently in NFL. He dropped a wide open TD, but also blocked the first FG kick just before App's drive to take the lead.

App State has done it again 15 yrs later. Never ever underestimate App State.

As a die hard Ohio State fan that’s lived in Michigan for decades 8 cheered and cheered and cheered.
