I loved how he finally responded with just one, definite, patient rebuff and then settled back down again. He must be pretty used to his drama queen companion 😂.

Reminds me of my Mom and Dad. My mom would just keep giving my dad a hard time, until finally he'd had enough and said one thing and make his point and then she'd stop in her tracks for a few seconds and then go back to giving him a hard time. I miss them both so much. Gone but not forgotten.

Arlo with the weary look of resignation on his face as Appa rants, "Here we go again"...

shepherds body language in this one is golden. Stays down, locks eyes, doesnt flinch or defer for one second during the whole thing, except the lip-lick at one point, which shows he doesn't want to fight. Then when the husky gets frustrated at no response and starts biting the socket, in other words "if i can´t insult you personally, i'll insult our parents" the gsd immediately barks and goes "don't you take it that far, or we will have a problem", then goes back to challenge mode stare contest until the husky calms down and retreats. This is a classic older and younger sibling argument, and this gsd has an amazing temperament and parental vibe.

It must be a GSD thing. I have 4 dogs, and the "man of the house" is Buddy, my GSD-border collie mix. He has the patience of a saint to handle all the quirks and sassiness of the smaller dogs! I can watch his expressions to see if I was misinterpreting something the rowdies were doing. Maybe I thought they were really fighting when they were playing, or I was letting them get by with too much insolence. Buddy will let me know with his expressions, because Buddy knows! I think Buddy lets them get away with too much 🙂

Arlo is doing his cat routine, hogging and guarding the stairs. Appa just wants to pass, but there is one huge hairy obstacle in the way.

This video demonstrates the complete difference between huskies and german shepherds absolutely perfectly, in under two minutes.

So this just appeared in my YT home page. Not only are your dogs adorable and hilarious, my Dad is called Appa by my nieces and nephews. :) I will have to show him this video when I see him next.

I love when other own huskies. I will come play adore and give treats. and when the screaming becomes too much. I can just drop the husky back at it’s home and go away and sleep in silence😂 Just like toddlers. Love them until they’re sick or they pooped. At which points it’s totally best to return them back to their parents😂

Clearly Arlo won the debate. The reason behind his success was his lethal stare down, a single high pitch wuff warning, calmness in pressure situation and his temperament.

This goes on in my house between me and my husband all the time...I'm the one on the steps.

Arlo is an excellent example of only speaking when necessary.

This GSD is really smart. He only responded only when husky touched that light switch. All other instances he only listened as a intellectually matured person.

The truism in C. Teal's comment above, ostensibly delivered by Arlo, the German Shepherd of the household, made me think of what Cassidy Hutchinson, the Trump administration aide to the Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, reported was told to her about Trump's angry outburst in the Presidential SUV on January 6, 2021. Her under-oath testimony was that she was told then-President Trump was enraged when he found that the Secret Service team wasn't going to allow him to join his supporters at the Capitol, and that he had to be taken back to the West Wing of the White House. Trump reportedly yelled "I am the effing President! Take me to the Capitol NOW!!!" Yup. Any man that needs to yell "I am the King!" is not a true king.

A Shepherd a bark, a Husky a whole goddamn opera…

Arlo's a good listener.

Husky is like a younger brother asking for the permission to go out to play when parents are not around. The elder brother GS is like, "have you finished your homework?".

She's nervous to come down the stairs past him. For some reason she's intimidated. It may be in the past he has objected to her passing by him too closely. She expresses her extreme frustration but he doesn't give her any sign that he'll let her come past. Finally she has to go back upstairs and be alone, because none of the giggling humans come to her aid. I didn't find the video funny. In my home I wouldn't let one dog block the other from being able to come to me.

She is trying to tell him to get out of her way, so she doesn't have to walk around him. She feels that she is the alpha and he should respect her enough to just get out of her way without her having to get physical. She's being extremely overdramatic about it because he's refusing to move. Meanwhile, he's not giving in, because he knows he's the alpha and he asserts his dominance on her by barking at her with one single, powerful "woof" when she starts trying to bite the light switch to let her know he won't allow her to be disrespectful. End the end, she acknowledges that she is not willing to fight him for the alpha position (probably because she's not in the mood and knows she will lose) and retreats until a later time. 🙂

"You gonna give me the silent treatment again? Fine, I can take it. (pause) Oh, come on...talk to me."

I only heard Arlo once. I think Arlo just taught me something about marriage.

German Shepherd: " You want the lights out. ...Touch that switch again and you're gonna know that all dogs go to heaven." That Husky is crazy fun 😜.

nah. arlo didnt even engage on the husky’s beef. he told him the husky off for attempting to bite the light switch.

Husky: epic whinging... German: pull yourself together man

German Shepherd: *Silently, Mildly, entertained* Husky: *But What if I Touch?* GSD: *NO TOUCH*

Just like an old married couple. One goes off like a thunderstorm and the other pulls back like a turtle.

When it comes to arguing even humans will fail to husky...Drama giants they are...❤❤❤
