Best I can reason is 'culture' but that's all. Majority of the topics are very foreign to me but I immediately understood what empress dowager means after using context clues, even the mother in law relationship. Either they're not very bright or just likes to yap while still in the shallow waters. Regardless, former and latter is equally sad

I used to think like u. When u grow up, u will understand that people are more stupid than u thought. Thats why they have “reading comprehension test” which is hard to someone and for someone like me or u it is fucking easy. Thats why most content that is famous always gonna be something easy to understand.

Most people today can't even sit through a 3 minute video without constant visual cues, so a slow burn show like this is bound to lose viewer retention. These are mild viewers. You sometimes get rash idiots criticise the show's plot & logic even after it's explained a minute later.

I know right. Like the guy on top left. Looks like he isn't even reading, it was already said that the youngest might have been there because of political reasons and he still doesn't get it. He also can't comprehend what the food taster did. He kept on questioning stuffs like damn, just shut up and maybe read what you are watching to know the answers.

I do agree there are people who is plain stupid, some are treating anime as fast food and do not fully concentrate, immerse themselves in it and respect it. But culture barrier do affect audience ability to understand and memorize things of foreign culture. Plus the author purposely put two cases together in this part of story, to confuse audience.

Nah, the previous emperor was genuinely just a pedophile. The proper age to conceive back then was actually older and around 15-16 years old, which is why Maomao was surprised when the ladies-in-waiting told her about what age the empress dowager was when she gave birth.

Maybe previous emperor is a lolicon. Lol But i agree with you. There is something called politics. And in old era there is no education or college + no medical advance so it is better for women to have kid at teenage which is the most fertile age.

@@s.hazader6029 Not to mention women mature faster than men, women at most stop growing at 15-16 at very latest. Most if not all cultures in the past did things more realistically going off biology instead of today where a dude can be convicted by sleeping with someone who's barely under 18 which is well above females growth. But some cases are too extreme, like under a teen was probably a political thing as mentioned. But anime depicts age very diffirent and it is not accurate at all.
