    @@3deanes958 Armstrong had a reputation for hating and avoiding interviews BEFORE he joined NASA. There is no 'stark contrast" in staying exactly the same Aldrin's personal life is shit. Not only did his marriage start falling apart about this time or shortly after, he had a history of depression and alcoholism that started BEFORE Apollo 11 stemming from his mother's own battle with depression and eventual suicide about a year before the mission, something he partially blames himself for because his fame got her swamped with unwanted attention she could no longer handle. We also know that Aldrin may be rather salty and bitter because he was originally supposed to have been the first man on the moon instead, a fact that apparently led him to having a big shouting match with NASA's admins. Collins mostly looks bored. Also, this mission was either after 3 weeks of quarantine, or another month of being shipped from country to country ever 3 days (I don't remember the exact date.) Either way, that means it's highly likely that they have some amount of mental and physical exhaustion and depression is extremely common in professions that spend a lot of time traveling. Gee, you seem to have ignored quite a few experiences and emotions.

    I’m sorry but do you realize how dumb of a statement that is? All it takes are smart international affair members and a genius cinematographer. Why do people act like it’s not possible that we didn’t go to the moon? If we continue to believe everything we’re told about the moon landings with no official proof that we went, well then what the fuck does that make NASA? A religion? Yes exactly... that’s exactly what NASA is at this point. You know why? Because it takes complete and utter faith in our government that we went. Just like a religion. People continue to deny the proof that we didn’t go because NASA is providing all this “evidence” that we did actually go but I find their responses lacking. It’s hilarious to me... it really is...

    @apolloskyfacer5842

    5 ай бұрын

    @@IamSShorts And here's the answer that you no doubt will completely ignore because it doesn't fit into your agenda of denial. This is a similar question by another denier of the SIX Apollo Moon Landing Missions who has no clear understanding of those Missions. I'll use it as a point of reference. “It didn't take another 50 years for a pilot to cross the Atlantic in an aeroplane after Lindbergh. So why, after 50 years plus, didn't they return to the Moon ? *Answer* Traveling between two highly populated continents in aeroplanes had near immediate benefits (economically, socially, strategically, etc.) and didn't cost billions of dollars, both per passenger and per flight. If you want to compare Moon missions to Earth-based achievements, it would be more apt to look to the history of the exploration Antarctica. The continent was first glimpsed in 1820 and was followed by other expeditions (including some landings) over the next couple decades. Then there was an approximately 50 year gap before Antarctic expeditions resumed. This was because it was difficult to sail to Antarctica and harder still to explore it on land with early and mid-19th century technology, colonizing it wasn't feasible, exploring the continent meant taking resources and funds away from other endeavors (a search for a Northwest passage, claiming habitable lands before other European countries could, etc.), and there was little economic value in traveling that far south for anyone but whalers and sealers (the people who drove the return to Antarctica near the end of the 19th century). NASA shifted away from expensive Moon missions that had limited short and near term benefits when the Soviets abandoned their own crewed Moon ambitions and devoted a larger percentage of resources and money to low-Earth orbital missions. The advancement of satellite technology and the development of space stations greatly increased the economic, strategic, and scientific value of being able to regularly travel into low-Earth orbit. The United States would have fallen behind if NASA continued to allocate its reduced budget to more very expensive Moon missions. Instead they used Saturn rockets a few last times on the Skylab missions (the first U.S. space station) and the Apollo-Soyuz test, and they shifted resources and funds to building (and later maintaining) space shuttles, a reusable craft designed specifically to make getting people and cargo into low-Earth orbit easier and more affordable. Similarly, retiring the Space Shuttle program in 2011 allowed NASA to start building a new spacecraft and launch vehicle designed for deep space missions. That has led to 2022's Artemis 1, an un-crewed test of the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft that resulted in a successful lunar flyby. They intend to follow that up with a crewed lunar flyby (Artemis 2) and another crewed lunar landing (Artemis 3) in the next couple of years. *Comment courtesy of Nerox5723* 😎

    So that's your 'proof' that Apollo 11 didn't happen ? Body language ? This Moon hoax claim is probably one of the most significant in that it shows very clearly the characteristics of the conspiracy theorist 'mind-set' in which everything, even an ordinary occasional serious expression, is interpreted as evidence of colossal 'fakery'. And images and videos of the Astronauts are selectively cherry-picked to bend them to that distorted vision and agenda.

    The irony with this sort of ridiculous attempt at sarcasm is that Patrick Moore's question about whether they could "actually see stars" in the lunar sky itself indicates that he himself doubted that they could but wanted confirmation of the fact. Moore was known as a respected amateur astronomer who would have been intimately familiar with the challenges of maintaining good night vision for star viewing. Meanwhile we have a host of non-astronomers (amateur or otherwise) all insisting that stars should certainly have been visible, despite the Apollo astronauts being surrounded by a sunlit landscape and the sun dazzling in the lunar sky. Clearly Patrick Moore himself had no such certainty.

    That press conference took place 3 weeks after they were in quarantine upon returning from the moon. We can see that they were not comfortable, that they were nervous (especially Neil), but that is understandable, since they were ex-test pilots turned astronauts, they were not media experts comfortable being in front of an audience. They were also professionals and hence they were being professional throughout that conference, back at a time when that's how professionals were expected to behave. Today, probably because of the celebrity culture, people seem to doubt that anything exciting or ground breaking has occurred unless those involved 'prove' their excitement by whooping and wailing every few seconds when on TV :-)

  • @mtmindtoo650

    @mtmindtoo650

    9 жыл бұрын

    ThyMajesticOne They are not shivering and they did handle it, so stop exaggerating please :) They are astronauts who were once test pilots, they are *not* ex-scientists or ex- TV presenters, hence you *completely* miss the point. When asked questions on THEIR area of expertise, such as flying the craft or operating the controls etc, then the astronauts are completely relaxed because they know their 'stuff', they know about flying craft better than anyone else in the room, but when asked scientific questions from those who experts in their fields of science (such as questions from astronomer Patrick Moore), then the astronauts are naturally less confident, and it shows. In other words, questions on science is outside their comfort zone. The past careers of the three astronauts is not at question here, they were ALL test pilots who risk their lives every time they flew an experimental aircraft, in a field of work where at it's peak, one test pilot was being killed per week in the US! So forget about Apollo for the moment, those astronauts had *already* proven their bravery and their ability to handle touch situations long BEFORE the moon landings. So by your _logic_, are we suppose to now assume that their test pilot careers were fake too because three ex-test pilots appeared nervous answering scientific questions outside their comfort zone in a press conference? :) If not, they explain why ex-test pilots are not suppose to ever show signs of being nervous or uncomfortable under such circumstances. I look forward to your reply, but a little less insults and a little more thinking please :)

  • @mtmindtoo7669

    @mtmindtoo7669

    ThyMajesticOne [I just noticed this reply didn't show up, so I'll post it again] And let me state the following so we get it right. The idea that the astronauts appear nervous or uncomfortable at certain points throughout that conference has been pounced upon countless times by those claiming it proves the moon landings were a hoax. In other words, they claim it proves the astronauts were lying and therefore proves they didn't land on the moon. Your initial reply to me read like a moon hoax believer attacking my comments on that basis. If that's not your belief and therefore not what you meant, then you should be able to re-read your initial reply and understand why it could be misinterpreted that way. Now if you agree that the Apollo moon landings did occur and that there were 6 successful landings from 1969 to 1972, then great, we have something in common. If however you believe the moon landings were a hoax or you couldn't care less either way, then we don't have anything in common on this subject, or at least not yet. The astronauts do look nervous and uncomfortable when answering questions outside of their comfort zone, that's my opinion, I didn't say they were sitting there scared to the point that they would *shiver* in front of the camera, that's *completely* different and hence is an example of _you putting words in my mouth_. They even fumble over the terms in places. For example, when discussing seeing stars, Neil calls the sun's outer atmosphere the 'Corola' instead of 'Corona'. A simple error when it's not your field of expertise, and said in a way that lacked confidence in the subject matter, but that's understandable, which is the point I'm making. If you don't believe that any of the astronauts showed any signs of being nervous or uncomfortable at any time throughout that press conference, then fine, we'll just have to agree to disagree :)

    It's not all black and white and that's the crux of the matter, but I still think you are wrong. They are covering something up but I don't know what or why. Some of the footage is not taken on the moon that's a fact. Does that mean there was no moon-landing? Hell no, it only means that some of the footage was forged. But its fact and fiction blended together. I have the privilege to look at this from a clear and objective mind since I didn't saw the landings on TV, I'm not a US citizen and I haven't spent a dime on the program. I know what the US government is capable of. You just have to do some reading on Project MKUltra, operation Northwoods and what not. I figured out a long time ago how this world operates and to what end. It is not that surprising when you understand human nature. But I say it again, you don't know what I think about the Apollo-program and I most surley do not need your consent to have my thoughts about anything. So I don't have to tell you anything about anything. You can not and will not change my mind, there is but a few humans that can provoke me to alter my views, and they are most surley not on youtube comment section. ;) I liberated myself from viewing the world on a "reactionist" level along time ago and that with its costs also have its benefits. In my view, the three scapegoats are covering something up and it is clearly so, but somehow people makes alot of what's going on in the world, about them instead of about the fact in hand. "They can't", "they wouldn't", "not to me" etc... However I salute you exercising the freedom we have to be allowed to have different opionions, because that is what freedom is all about... for better or worse some might say hahaha ;) (And that joke is on me, even though I still disagree with you)

Then, on returning from the vacation ,you ask these three to meet you at the airport. When they greeted me at the airport, I would then ask them if all is well, that my house is how I left it. @@user-rf5kj6jj2w As a retired aircraft structures engineer, I would say that you do indeed need to check everything 'step by step', but with due regard to the risk of any given failure and an assessment of the risks inherent in the consequences of such failure. And that, to the best of my knowledge, is how the Apollo program was conducted. But they didn't hang about. They were in a race! Spy satellites had spotted what could only be the Soviet Moonrocket at its launchsite. The pressure was on to avoid any kind of upstaging which the Soviets could contrive (such as a manned flight around the Moon). The US did not know at that time the severe difficulties that would later go on to hinder the Soviets attempts at a manned moon landing. They only knew that their moonrocket was nearly ready to attempt its first flight. As for what happens outside of Earth's magnetic field. The radiation environment above the Van Allen Belts is more benign than within them (provided there are no solar flares directed towards the Earth-Moon system). They had sent several probes (successfully) investigating the cislunar and lunar environment. Their spacecraft had layers of redundancy should any primary system fail (sometimes if a secondary system should fail also). The only systems that did not have this redundancy was their engines. So these were made extremely simple to maximise their reliability. So they knew what the environment above the VAB was like. Their spacecraft had been fully tested, both on the ground, in Low Earth Orbit and through the Van Allen Belts. Whatever risks remained were weighed, and subseqently accepted. And they were far from being 'suicide' missions. Today, we are attempting moon landings with almost all new technology. The first moon landings of the 1960s had many problems, with several crashes and failures. NASA (and the Soviets) learned from these failures how to make reliable moon landings. But that technology and those skills were not maintained. Today, with new technology and new people, we are effectively having to learn it all over again. (Don't forget the Odysseus lander was a successful landing, in that an almost fully functioning spacecraft arrived at its intended landing site, after the failure of a critical system required for landing. It was not a 'crash'). I recommend to you the Curious Droid video "Why is it Still So Hard to Land on the Moon?".

It's not only on KZread, and has been for many years, it's also available on the Apollo Flight Journal. NASA is perfectly happy to have made it available for public consumption. @Nim Chimpsky To be fair, it isn't a question of having tech in '69 and not having it now -- it's more that back then they could just tell the astronauts "You'll be fine, nothing to worry about" without caring about their safety or health. Like sending men into the coal mines with no safety equipment if they couldn't pay for it themselves out of their meager wages, and they come back with the black lung (if they come back at all). That being said, watching the "men who went to the moon" is probably the best (if not only) reliable evidence to show that we didn't go.

    Calling Armstrong taciturn would be an understatement, Aldrin concluded. In his book Men From Earth he said he thought Armstrong had worked his way through his career "carefully watching everything he did and said." Colleagues found all three Apollo 11 crew mates laconic -- "the quietest crew in manned space flight history," one said at the time. After they had buckled themselves into their seats before their giant Saturn rocket thundered off its pad at Cape Kennedy, there was 30 minutes of dead silence. Flight director Clifford Charlesworth had earlier speculated about Armstrong's first words from the surface: "I imagine that he'll call Houston and say: `We've landed.'"

    At the post-flight press conference of Apollo 11, why did Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins look so perplexed and tensed? Because you have been primed to see that by the suggestion of a conspiracy theorist who has deceitfully edited the original video. For example. The screen has been edited out. Do yourself a favor and watch the original video of this Press Conference presented by LunaModule5 In it you can see the screen that the Astronauts are referring to. This puts an entirely different perspective on it. They do not, in fact, look perplexed or tense beyond what you would expect of people born in the 1930s and not in the You Tube era. They do appear tired and jet lagged-which they all were. After returning from the moon, they spent two weeks in quarantine, then spent most of August and September on a round the world tour. Then NASA arranged this press conference. They don’t seem perplexed. They seem exhausted, but if you keep watching, they brighten up when they start talking about the mission, telling jokes and smiling and relaxing. But they are clearly tired, and it shows.

    Conspiracy theorists and ordinary doubters often mention the press conference held by the Apollo 11 astronauts after returning from the Moon, noting how their expressions are once again gloomy and seem to betray unease. The astronauts utter their words very slowly, with an almost flat tone, as if they were speaking grudgingly. This, it is claimed, is evidence that they are lying uncomfortably. This is mostly based on the deceitfully edited version of this Press Conference by a 'flat earth' conspirator. Actually, if you watch the original version of this entire press conference presented by *LunaModule5* instead of just its first few minutes of the deceitfully edited one, it becomes evident that the three astronauts gradually relax and become more at ease while still choosing their words very carefully. There are many moments of laughter, smiles and outright jokes despite the pressure of it being their first press conference after their historic trip.

Or was it Studio 38 in Burbank, Or was it in Studio 54 Hollywood ? Or in Arizona ? Or in Utah ? Or in New Mexico ? Wait ! That's it ! It was in Area 51 Nevada. For goodness sake, get over it.🤣

    *Time for Mr Monos to get educated* At the post-flight press conference of Apollo 11, why did Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins look so perplexed and tensed? *Because you have been primed to see that by the suggestion of a conspiracy theorist who has deceitfully edited the original video* Do yourself a favor and watch the original video of this Press Conference presented by *LunaModule5* In it you can see the screen that the Astronauts are referring to.

    🤓 IN December 1969, NASA’s public affairs chief, Julian Scheer, made a presentation to a group of aviation experts gathered in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Speaking six months after an estimated 650 million people watched a televised feed of the first Apollo moon landing, Scheer showed a series of films depicting cavorting astronauts and scientific equipment on what appeared to be a lunar landscape. The footage, Scheer revealed, was entirely terrestrial, shot during simulation exercises at NASA’s space-training facilities, including a rock quarry in Michigan. “You can really fake things on the ground - almost to the point of deception,” Scheer said, before inviting his audience to “come to your own decision about whether or not man actually did walk on the moon.” 👍

What amuses me most is after a year (start) with claims of just "Lies" They get upset /jump on with 1 improper input like it is a marvel.... Hell even demands by most nasty triggered Anti troll to evaluate Sheeple's inputs after so many demeanings.... :)

    All of the Apollo training footage shot in the desert is obviously terrestrial. Unsuited personnel, trucks and other vehicles, vegetation, and bright sky, often with clouds are visible.

    *Probability* "Threlfall’s was the first official wager in the Space Race, and the odds were not in his favor: Famous bookmakers William Hill allowed him odds of 1,000 to 1 “for any man, woman or child, from any nation on Earth, being on the Moon, or any other planet, star or heavenly body of comparable distance from Earth, before January, 1971.” What lunar bettors didn’t know was that NASA also gave the moon landing long odds. Only months before Threlfall’s wager, a NASA-commissioned risk assessment had forecast the chance of successfully fulfilling Kennedy’s decreed moon landing at just 1 in 20. Most positive: Crew after 3"successful Journeys" >>> ” Armstrong told interviewers on the flight’s 30th anniversary, “but only a 50-50 chance of making a landing on that first attempt.” Buzz Aldrin had it about there too. “I think we will escape with our skins,” Michael Collins wrote in a NASA history, “but I wouldn’t give better than even odds on a successful landing and return. There are just too many things that can go wrong.”
