Groove is a great sounding DAC/amp and the build is nice for the price.

Nice video...question for you I am a musician and home recording buff...I have the Focusrite 2i2 3rd gen...and Sennheiser 660's headphones and was wondering if you can hook this up to the 2i2 to use for recording...thanks

I've been using on these for nearly 5 years with no issues. Runs higher impedance cans like my Beyer T90's very well and supposedly does well with higher impedance Senns. Can run planers if they are efficient like my Hifiman Ananda's but it has an output impedance of 20ohms, so not ideal for low impedance cans.

I’m the type of dude that mixes on his laptop. Don’t really need an interface. Just need something to power my headphone properly while mixing. So I can truly hear what I need to hear. Might need to check this out.

Hi, how would you compare this with a scarlett interface (i got 2i2 2nd Gen)? I bought a pair of HD650 and they sound worst than my ATm40X plugged into it, the volume is there but no detail at all and missing information in the top end. I m wondering if i would notice any improvement with the groove.

I think I saw you do a review on the Qudelix 5k and my choices are essentially between the 5k and the Groove. I am leaning more towards the Groove bc it's more professional, pressumably better output/audio quality, and utilitarian than the 5k. Which do you prefer out of both?

Interesting although quite old now, I'm looking to drive my AKG K701 from my PC , the fact that Sweetwater are bundling this together with 701 tells me it's a good pairing, I've gone through several DAC dongles trying to get the right pairing for my 701s and all of them seem underpowered for the 701s despite their low 62 ohm impedance I know they need voltage swing

I personally like the form factor of being a simple rectangle with a headphone jack on one end, and a USB port (instead of an integrated cable) on the other. It makes the hardware a little bit more futureproof than an integrated cable because, just in case anything goes wrong with the cable, you can always get another one instead of having a perfectly good DAC made useless by a frayed cable. Really wish more similar designs came out and I really wish Apogee put in a Type-C port instead lol.
