Aphex Twin - Rhubarb - Slowmo version

Музыка

Aphex Twin's Rhubarb slowed down around 8 times with 'Pauls Extreme Sound Stretch'. Turns a great track into something a bit different but still great :)
I didn't want just a blank screen or pictures to go with the song and thought a nice summery field would complement it well. Shot not far from Jönköping, Sweden. The video is slowed down to half speed to make it a bit more serene.
Please enjoy.

@@FredrikSvensson1979 Thank you again Fredrik for replying. I am living in Connecticut, USA now but am originally from North Carolina in USA. My girlfriend died 6 years ago, and I still feel that pain. We were so fucking young man. It just hurts so bad. There’s no other word for it, I’m just so sad. So much time has passed that I feel that I’m yearning to be a person I don’t recognize anymore. We were in our early 20s, had our whole lives ahead of us. The older I get, the more jaded I can be about the world, but at that time I was madly in love without the anxieties that gets me now. If I’m being realistic, it’s likely that we would’ve broken up at some point anyways. But in a therapeutic way, this song makes me feel as if we never did, and were still together, hanging out, going for hikes, going for long bike rides, eating new food, visiting new places together. I only got to love her for 8 months, and I feel like more happiness was robbed from me, her, and her whole family. I just wish we all had more time with the people we loved.

I had a strange moment a while ago where I was concussed playing a football match and was knocked out cold. When I was knocked out I had a strange dream I was in a grassy field, having a BBQ and camping with loved ones a beautiful sunny day. Mom and Dad sharing a joke, my arm around my girlfriend, my younger brother playing football with his friend, my girlfriend's parents enjoying a glass of wine together and my grandparents (who have been dead for quite sometime) singing together, smiling and holding hands. When all this was happening, I could've sworn the only sound I was hearing was this beautiful song playing in the background. When I awoke, I was surrounded by around 10-15 people, including my mom, all panicking and I had no idea what was going on. I just wanted to go back to that beautiful scene. I don't remember much after that, all I know is that I was rushed to hospital and that I didn't regaine my memory until a day or two after. It put things into perspective for me. Life is beautiful, no matter how bad it seems. Out there, somewhere, there is somewhere that you can call heaven. You just have to find it. Don't take life for granted either, just try find the beauty in your life and cherish it.

This reminds me of when I went scuba-diving for the first time off the coast of Borneo. It was near the end of my third and last dive. My instructor was so confident of my proficiency that he basically said "Follow me" for an hour and took me to see the stranger things that live in deeper water. I felt so protective towards all the creatures I saw down there, like they were my close family members. Anyway, during the last decompression stop on our way back up I floated motionless in the big blue, the sea floor out of sight below, the surface a rippling canopy above, overwhelmed by waves of gratitude. The beauty, the weightlessness, the calm. And resurfacing into a vast dome of sunshine and warm winds felt in some small way like being reborn.

When the first video you started hits the 50 second mark, you start the normal speed version. Turn down the volume of the two slow versions a bit if you want. That's it pretty much :)

You never think about how beautiful this life is until moments like these. We go through each day doing the same routine, often feeling lost and seeking direction. I have never heard music so beautiful. I feel hardened by the stressors of everyday life, sometimes to overwhelming degrees where I think to myself "I don't know for how much longer I can take this." The saddest realization, for me at least, is that it will probably always be this way. The burden of financial stress, relationships, anxiety, and the crippling limits I put on myself will always prevent me from living the life I so desperately wish I could live. But every few years I find relief with something like this...just a few minutes out of my life where I can stop and forget it all. I see this beautiful field, I acknowledge that it actually exists somewhere in this world, and for a brief moment, just a split second, I can almost feel myself touching that grass. feeling the sun on my face. the light breeze and the silent symphony of nature. but I know that when I open my eyes, it will have just be an image on my computer screen.

The human mind is incredible, being able to flex between so many different emotions and thoughts within mere seconds. The ability to manipulate a person's mental state so easily with music is perplexing to me. Not only that but the way your mind begins to operate while listening to certain songs is incredible as well. Our mind is powerful because it is weak, allowing the world around it to so easily manipulate us, opening our eyes to so many ideas that were never thought of before.

Well done, however I would say naive instead of weak, our minds are capable of so much that it is without measure. However, it is held back by the limiters put upon us, with the need for necessary, and unnecessary material objects, the root of all evil, money, and the human stigma of he who has the most wins. Not nurturing our minds with the tranquility of musical landscapes, and the sheer beauty of the world around us.

I and we may never all know your story, but what's important is you don't have to tell it again, that one day, you're free from the need to remind yourself of the past. Ignore the worms that bite you, they are worms. Acknowledge those who try to help, they are humans.

I mean I can just lie down and let the music take me away for the night and I send this to people telling them it's relaxing, some of those with sleep issues. They just tell me it keeps them awake rather than send them to sleep. I mean, isn't drone designed for meditation and sleep? It's not like I disrespect anyone's opinions of anything as everyone is entitled to their own, I just find it strange that this music would intervene with someone's sleep or relaxation rather than send them off on a calming mental adventure with a destination of sleep.

But they're not punishing you, he said. They're freeing your soul. So the way he sees it, if you're frightened of dying and... and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. This scenery reminds me of a place about 20 min away from home by bike. Over about the last two years this has become sort of a sanctuary for me. I don't visit it often though, which is a shame. There is just very much to do with my bachelor thesis and studying all around. There is also no time for friends, let alone really caring about people. It seems like the more you dive into duty, the less free you become. And this means that freedom can only be achieved in death or the greatest ignorance. The world is also busy without you. Do yourself a favor and enjoy life in a calm and peaceful way. These moments are seldom nowadays.

I could imagine this is what death is like. You feel cold before you pass but you realize the coldness is really a sense of peacefulness the more you slip into it. You realize that there was pain there that you didn't realize could be taken away after its gone. You find yourself in the place you'd feel the most at peace at. You walk forever in a painless world with the ones you love.

Numb, lost, no direction and living in the past. Only get momentary happiness from the simple things in life. That's me in a nutshell and this song evokes all those emotions in one. I hope I wasn't born too early to experience indistinguishable virtual reality. Just go wherever, whenever you want but it all feels 100% real. Apologies if this comment sounds edgy, just had the urge to write it down.

of all the ambient music eye have ever used for sleep, THIS is the best. you can have this on pretty loud in your room if you need to block out external noise. i know you can say this about a lot of music, but this one maintains the same frequencies throughout, has n0thing to latch onto, fades out and back in pretty quickly (minimal silence or harshness as the tune comes back on). of course, you can't beat the original, so massive kudos to Aphex, but for sleeeep, this is the daddy. nice upload Fredrik. peace from England.
