I get it. She's built up what being a Legend is like in her head for so long, that now that it is really happening she is starting to see it is nothing like how it goes in her fantasies. Now that she is finally a legend herself she half feels overwhelmed at the fact she actually is meeting the other champions, but also feels like she doesn't belong because she doesn't really know any of them and feels out of place because she is in such a different environment than what she is used to; she is used to being surrounded by family, friends, a community that all knows each other. But now she is a "new kid on the block" and she feels alone because she doesnt know these people like she knows the ones back home and she is feeling homesick because of the loneliness. She misses her vibrant home-life. She misses the family she used to see every day. She misses how it was always vibrant and loud around her. But now it is quiet, empty and lonely and she is struggling to cope with the fact that while she can be friends with the legends, she still feels out-of-place and is struggling with the idea of having to reestablish connections with new people. And she also is trying to take on the fact that overusing the battery with her suit is going to cause lasting side-effects and eventually kill her alone so that no one in her family will worry about her and that is adding to the loneliness she feels.

honestly, the whole hard to get along bit is very relatable to mirage. I would love to get some interaction between them, he knows what it's like to be alone.

I assume the radiation poisoning is not only killing her slowly, but also distancing herself from her family. Despite this, she’s doing everything she could to give her family, including her sister Diwa, a better life and opportunity to become legendary. In the game, I could see her getting a nerf before the next big update.

nerfing her would mean respawn is picking a fight with EA which we know they would never so, if they nerf her they would be going against EA's business model in apex which is keep champions overpowered until they get their heirloom and have sold as many as possible. After that, they'll end up like valkyrie, never picked again

Then a few weeks after the Heirloom is released they will nerf her again. They did this with pretty much every later characters heirloom release

Respawn has so much extensive research about Conduit. Like... distancing herself from family to work elsewhere, the aura of that starstruck wearing off, the next question after the general first is about food and having eaten already, death knocking on her door. It's your standard plight of the Overseas Filipino Worker.

Despite all the negativity the apex game itself deals with i.e respawn/ea bullshizz- the lore is what keeps me even somewhat engaged. I like her!

wow, the voice acting here is so good and really impressive. it's not cringey and it's actually fitting with the flow of the conversation. they did very well with how she mixed or added "tagalog words" in her dialogues. unlike how other tv shows or media entertainments that produces filipino characters apart from the Philippines.

I think this was happening during the Revenant uprising, which is why the rest of the legends are absent right now. I’m hoping the other legends will notice Conduit progressively getting worse and eventually jump in to save her. I’m pretty sure they have the knowledge and solutions to keep Conduit alive.

Despite Alexander Nox (Caustic) being as much of a sociopathic… and practically “psychopathic” (debatable) he is.. I think if he happens to know about Rowenna’s (Conduit) entire issue about the battery.. he would definitely empathize and sympathize because of him suffering a similar fate that is even seeming like it’s inevitable for him to outrun his issues… he would seem like he would help her due to that and only due to that.. I know a lot of ppl think Nox is far too “gone” to be able to be that person… but what I believe is… Nox is more of the “anti hero” type person.. unlike Kaleb (Revenant) who’s like practically full on evil Supervillain.. but sometimes yeah that also seems to vary… I think Nox is Lawful Evil; not Chaotic Evil… that would be Kaleb.

Damn this clip turned out way darker than i thought it was going to be.

Conduit’s story turned out to be way better than I thought (she’s still dumb for touching that battery). She’s not only my second new main (along side Lifeline, healer power!) but I’m also really engaged in her story. All the legends are like superheroes, but we hardly see the psychological effect from competing in the games. These ARE games. No one really dies. But it still takes a lot of sacrifice. Poor Conduit is lonely because she’s away so much. She sees her heroes for the flawed, broken people they are. And the scary things they do behind the scenes. She’s in a whole new world.

@@enderteck3273 I have a little theory that she's really suffering from metal fumes from the battery and not the radiation in it, considering how radiation powered batteries work by converting to electricity first.

In her voicelines she mentions the "Latimosa Special" shows his mother lived into that town. And that Titan could of been the og that ran with Cooper. Anyone played Titanfall 2 should know it's possible

Lastimosa special is an reference to Lastimosa armory which is not related to Captain Tai Lastimosa and also this is not bt at all. This is just a cheap imc copy of the militia vanguard that is either on auto titan mode is being piloted buy some random militia pilot. Respawn knows better not to piss off the titanfall community by killing bt and cooper.

In the animation, the Titan was destroyed and the pilot was killed, in which neither would have been BT or Cooper. Spoiler warning for the TF2 campaign, but BT’s chassis was destroyed in the detonation of the arc fold weapon, where his core was somehow intact enough to send a message to Cooper’s helmet in the post credits scene. Cooper in the lore is currently still alive and well, so no, this is nowhere near the case. Also, as the other guy said, EA and Respawn know better than to piss off the TF2 community

@@PatentPending47 exacly, most of the apex community is made up of titanfall fans who has been waiting 7 years for a 3 installment in the titanfall story. Respawn and ea killing off cooper and bt for a new legend would have made alot of players drop apex entirely.

Not until this moment a apex animation made me feel a hit right at the heart, i find it way so much relatable what shes going for in the part of feeling out of place, no one to talk to and trying to be part of something but still being a totally stranger, damn conduit gotta be my second favorite legend now

You could say that a bit like Mirage, Conduit hides his personal drama with a fake smile to put on a show, entertain the audience and not make anyone he cares about worry about his problems.

Mirage should be next in line for lore. His uncle or one of his brothers is regarded with Valkyrie’s father, apparently.

theory: I think sooner or later lifeline is gonna be watching conduit more and conduit each season progressively gets sicker and lifeline is gonna have to save her and it might cause conduit and lifeline to start to get closer and become friends. Then maybe horizon,wattson (Possibly caustic? I doubt he would help tho unless it benefited him) would be told about it and figure a way to stop the radiation poisoning.

Of course it benefits him. He wouldn’t want to miss such a unique, deadly illness in work. If it kills Conduit or gets her close to death, that’s valuable data. But also, I believe Wattson could convince him to help.

Im excited to see her feel at home with the legends. Every legend has a duo sort of 'best friend' like fuse & bloodhound, loba & bangalore, lifeline & madmaggie, ect this season so itd be nice for conduit to feel connected to someone. Gibby aswell as mirage would both be amazing especially both being very family oriented. Conduit being the 'little sister' to gibby is amazing in the games aswell 🙌🏻💯⭐

Finally, some Conduit lore... I almost forgot she was actually a playable character now.

I'd just like to point out how incredibly relatable that "there's so much food" line is because I may not be Filipino, but I come from a country that has seen times of food shortage and emergency living situations, cultivating a culture of families that would typically stray and live apart being forced or preferring to live together and thus teaching themselves and each other to cook in large quantities, not just to be able to feed everyone present but to have leftovers for emergencies. "Too much food" is crushing. It's practically in her DNA to make copious amounts of food for a large, active family. And now all she has is leftovers, and no one to share them with. All she has is leftovers.

hmm.. this concept of her being in pain when she uses her abilities gives me the idea that maybe when she does her tactical it should take some hp, similar to an octane stim. some people think she’s a bit op or annoying to deal with and i think this would also balance her a little and fit for lore reasons.

Honestly them becoming friends in lore would not be out of the ordinary at all, vantage had to deal with this when she was coming in the games as well.

Lastimosa Armory is an in lore weapons manufacturer and are the ones who made Conduit's suit which is why it has a sun logo on it.

Likely referring to the Lastimosa Armory manufacturing company, who did stuff like designing the Hemlok _for_ the IMC and produced a lot of the prominent Titanfall weapons, they're not related to the Militia's Captain Tai Lastimosa Rather, both the company and the Militia Pilot are named after Ryan Lastimosa who was the weapons designer for Respawn. As he is Philippine by blood, the stuff based on him has Philippine symbols in-universe, which also makes a smooth connection to Conduit's ancestry Conduit's exosuit is a Lastimosa Armory design that she modified to work with the salvaged Monarch Battery, seems the company is well aware of what's going on with their tech

Interesting that she talked to Miss Lastimosa, as the "Lastimosa Armory" is seen a lot in Titanfall 2 (e.g. on Richter and Kanes helmets, pouches, a lot of weapons like the R101, R98, most smart weapons, etc). But she could also be unrelated to them as Pilot Tai Lastimosa was also likely not related to them. But their insignia is the Coat of Arms of the Philipines which is fitting.

@@whatisforreal7915 Titanfall 1 and 2 came before Apex, so Apex is part of the Titanfall universe (EA at one point started calling it the Apex universe). Between the Titanfall 2 story and Apex there is a 18 year gap. A lot of the weapons in Apex where in Titanfall as an earlier version, Bangalore and Newcastle where both part of the IMC-military, the enemy in TF2. Blisk used to be a mercenary in both TF1 and 2. Valk is the daughter of a Pilot who was part of Blisk's mercenary group and killed by the player. There are a lot of connections worth looking at, generally I can only recommend to play Titanfall 2 as it is often as cheap as 5 bucks while being one of the best FPS games ever

So some of the guns in Titanfall / Apex are forged by a company called Lastimosa Armory. That company is also what makes some weapons for Titans. Namely, the Monarch Titan with its X0-16 Chaingun. I am guessing that the company has some acknowledgement of the Monarch's battery core too.
