Sempai noticed me! This is the closest I've come to a celebrity response. Anyway, your Fox looked good, especially since you'd barely used it before now. 2015 might be your time since I bet you'll keep getting better with the Fox and already took 2nd in the biggest event of all time. Shame about the Peach though, but it looked kinda hard to use against Marth and Jiggs. I heard you're a school teacher, is that true?

It's been 6 years since this... That's crazy! I still remember staying up until 4am watching this knowing i had to be at school in a few hours.

Even though the meta has evolved so much, and with both these players out of the game now, I have got to say, this is seriously one of the best sets to one of the hypest tournaments of all time.

Great job to PPMD for winning TWO CONSECUTIVE APEXES!! WOW! After a hiatus, too!! These guys were the most on-point I've EVER seen them: PP with that great mental game, Armada with that pure tech skill. These guys have gotten SO good SO incredibly fast it's unbelievable. It's just great, great Smash. Gratz to both players for such an amazing showing.

I'm guessing there are a lot of pros here, so I just want to ask some tips for melee, because I suck at it and I want to be really good at it. what is the fastest way to improve in that game? (I guess it would also depend on what characters to use, so I guess the ones I got most used to were Ness, Kirby, Fox, Falco, Pikachu, and Link.) I would like to hear your opinions. Thanks!

I think I heard that clash tournaments was banned from Apex and since Isai is CT and didn't wanna change his team, I think that's why he didn't show. Correct me if I'm wrong!

I don't know what they were saying ,but I do know that after game 2 they were cheering Falco for PPMD.

This was the greatest tournament.

So, when I think back on these sets and PPs play, I usually think of the Marth. But the bird definitely had some moments. Also, Armada's fox is insane.

Schéraz He is dealing physical problems. From what I understand he has low testosterone which gives him not energy and a lack of focus. So he has been taking a lot of time off trying to figure out the cause of it.

Can anyone tell me why Armada's Fox didn't get launched by Falco's shine at 15:38? Instead he went into missed tech position for some reason. Is this not as weird as I think it is? Is it a stage quirk or amazing SDI or something? PP reacted to it perfectly so maybe it's normal and I just don't know enough about melee. Or maybe PP is literally a God.

Is there anyone out there who can give some advice on Melee playing? I'm really new to the game and I'm having trouble grasping the mechanics. It looks absurd, but others tell me it's actually not that bad. I'm totally aware of a lot of advanced techniques like wavedashing, but I can't incorporate them into my gameplay. Any pointers?

Just practice a lot, and be patient it eventually gets easier. It took me a few hundred hours to feel like I had it comfortably. I would just try to enjoy the learning process and feel good about each accomplishment.

This isnt like Brawl or Sm4sh that had guides to baby you through every single thing. The most you can get is advanced techs such as wavedashing. If you want some help on a certain character, watch matches, take notes. There aren't any guides on individual characters.

Honestly all it is, is just practice. I started playing Melee competitively about a year and a half ago, and all I could really do is just L-cancel for the most part. But I gradually started practicing more and more, now I'm wave dashing, jump cancel grabbing, multishining, crouch cancel f-smash etc. Depending on how often you play, you can achieve this is just a couple months. Just practice fundamentals first like SHFFLing (Short hop fast fall L-cancel) and then work your way into incorporating wavedashing.

I did hear about some health issues, such as really low energy from chemical imbalance. I heard his depression was getting better but that he's taking supplements from doctors to get his energy back. I'm not sure what the current story is. He certainly didn't seem to think he was back up to 100%. I'm just starting to wonder if he's ever going to get back to where he was.

Can anyone tell me why PPMD keeps drinking milk from that Monster can?

I still don't fully understand the switch back to marth. His falco was doing so solid. I get not feeling confident at the moment, but it was clearly providing results playing as falco.

I loved this set the only complaint I'd have was that Toph and D1 seemed to lack a bit of synergy. They just don't click like Toph and Scar, or D1 and Prog. Granted Prog's retired except when he's not.

How did Armada's Fox reach that level? He's only been in the lab with him for a short while and he's already imo the second best Fox after Mango (his consistent wins on Leffen puts him at second). He made Hungrybox look like he had never played a Fox before, too. O_o

leffen is a better fox(in general) but leffen is complete ass at fox dittos which is why its hard for him to win majors but armada has an amazing fox

ShadowshadeGaming101 Sorry to say it but Armada's Fox is clearly better. I love both players, but it's obvious Armada's tech skill is better than Leffen's. Just look at their Fox ditto set which I'm sure you have. Also, Armada's Fox beat Hungrybox's Jigglypuff, took a set off PPMD's Marth, and beat Mango's Falcon. Can't say that for Leffen. His Fox didn't just beat Leffen's Fox just because he's bad at Fox dittos, although I'm not sure that's the case since he's beaten Hax, and Chillin a lot. He just can't beat Armada's, and for a reason.

If you follow tourneys in Europe, you'll have seen that Armada has used fox before Paragon and Evo. He's been training w/ fox for at least several months.

Wiitubeaccount I played with him a lot between March/May last year, but because smash of summer I dropped him completely. So I'm not super new to the char by any means, but my experience with him is very limited to other top Foxes (or compared to my Peach)

Armada's DI on Marth's F-air was so good those games. I got so excited every time PPMD got the hit, but Armada would go so far horizontally he never got the setup for the D-air :( But PP's Marth... 19:18 that stock is just Kreygasm.

I always go for the ppmd tech in smash 4 because they kept the side b canceling with marth, thank god.

+Liam Hopfensperger sorry, first of all he didn't tech right. he got shot down from the side b and then he just rolled right. he didn't tech right at all. i slowed down the video and there is no puff of smoke from wavedashing after the roll. which means he did not wavedash. to further prove he did not wavedash, by slowing the video down and pausing very frequently after he gets up from the roll, he does not do the crouching part of fox's jump animation, which means he did not jump, which means he did not wavedash. D1 says that armada held down, allowing him to grab the edge. But I tried and I can never slide off the edge.
