Avo tip: The avocado goes in the fridge after it’s already ripened. Putting it in the fridge too early will stop it from getting ripe at all.

I’ve been watching your vlogs since the pandemic started, but never left a comment, but anyways I just wanted to say that your video’s are truly amazing Annika, and are always something I look forward to each week or so. As an avid avocado eater since being a kid with an avocado tree, the trick is to let them get perfectly ripe then toss them in the crisper drawer in the fridge! They’ll last anywhere from one to two weeks in there.

“Bad b*tches are lactose intolerant but dgaf” I felt that lol I loved the vlog! Also, apply lemon juice on your cut avocado (this works for apples and pears too!) It helps with slowing the oxidation process so it doesn’t start turning brown so quickly. They also make special containers that are supposed to help but I have never tried those Edit: may I ask where you got your big knife with the pink handle? It is gorgeous and looks like it’s pretty good quality!

Also leaving the core in the part you’re saving helps slow down the oxidation as well!!

I think the knife was from a company on Etsy, but she had it for a long time so I don't remember quite clearly

If I remember correctly, her mom's friend makes those knifes and sells them. Don't know if it's online or not. Annika mentioned it in one of her earlier vlogs...it was a cooking vlog I think from over a year ago, so try looking through those.

I only stumbled upon your channel about a week ago and have been binge-watching ever since. Your videos are so relaxing! I love the new look for your kitchen, that contact paper really brightens up the room. Makes me want to completely redo our kitchen.

for the cut open avocado, i recommend putting some lemon juice on it if you plan on preserving it overnight in the fridge! it only works for like,,, one or two nights but it helps to keep the brown spots away (sorry if i worded it weird, english isn't my first language)

Annika thank u so much for your vlogs. They truly comfort me. I’ve been having some difficultly living in Los Angeles (even though im a local) but I KNOW how you felt when yuzu didn’t land the 4A. I was so nervous I was holding my breath the entire time dude I felt the anxietyyy 😂 😭 but we all know he’s still the GOAT!!! . Hello! Since I don't see this comment from anyone else: Let the avocados ripen outside of the fridge and when they get soft, THEN throw them in the fridge. It buys you 2-3 days! I do this all the time because my avos ripen at the same time, so I don't have to eat them all at once lol

My sister told me this little trick you can do with cut open avocados. If you put it in a jar of water it should be fine the next day. I haven’t personally tried it but it worked for my sister.

I literally checked your channel half an hour ago incase if I missed your next video, but here you are with it. :))

I just wanted to say I love these vids so much!! The sheer aesthetic of these are a dream and a goal I aspire to reach one day! Avocado tip: if you leave the pit in one half, that half doesn't disappear as quickly as it usually would! even with a little browning they are still edible OR can be made into avocado paste. You can also freeze them :3 Just spreading the word so you don't have to go through the amount of avocado I wasted.

Good luck with the contact paper. I did the counters in my basement kitchen. It looked great. It started melting under my toaster oven and tears very easily if you scrub a plate or anything against it.
