Oh wow! I didn‘t know Barcelona is as expensive as Stuttgart (Germany) 🙀 my bf lived in a shared flat in Vigo (Spain) for 200€ and it was a huge space... these rent prices are crazy

In Paris you pay anywhere from 1,000 to 1,200 euros for a tiny studio.

It must have been a while ago because renting in Vigo is now quite expensive due to lack of flats being rented. A studio is rented for 600€ aprox. Also it dependes on the neighbourhood, of course. But not especially cheap
@helenafranco5091

@@gabius83 the thing in Spain is that mortgages are inaccessible to almost anyone under 35 years old because you can only access a mortgage for 80% of the purchasing amount. Since a flat typically costs 200-300K, you need at least 20% of that plus another 10% of taxes. So 60K savings for a 200K flat. Taking into account we pay 400-500 euros a month of rent and most people earn 1200 euros a month, It is super hard to save that amount of money.
Why is the rent in my dream city the same price as rent in my college town lol I can't wait to graduate

Salaries in Spain are shit. Just to give you an idea, the median Barcelona citizen earns 30K gross a year. Even if you are like CMO it is unlikely to get over 45-50k, and if you work only as a marketer, chances are you'll earn around 25-30k, which makes Barcelona apartments extremely expensive. Of course, if you come from the US, where salaries for highly skilled workers are much higher, then it might seem cheap. But it is actually extremely expensive...
@ommi_k

@@helenafranco5091 Those salaries aren't shit. It's actually high to earn 30k a year in Europe. And those apartments are on the more expensive side because of it's being in a city. As example I pay around 900$ a month for a 3 bedroom apartment but if I would be in the capital city of my country that apartment would be twice the price even though we earn around 30k a year.
@marissa630

because the salaries. If you had remote job that paid american salaries, you would do well. That being said, I pay over $700 a month on car payment, insurance, and fuel, which when I was in spain I didn't need.
@marissa630
3 жыл бұрын
@@ommi_k 30k is bad compared to american salaries. I made 55k out of college in America. the way salaries are spent are just much different for americans and europeans. easier in spain to not have a car, which saves quite a bit.

The apartments, are nice, but still, little space...
May I please some feedback? Try to hold your camera a little steadier and not whip it around when you pan. I had to keep pausing the video because it was giving me motion sickness. Pick a focal point, stay on it for at least a full breath before moving smoothly and steadily to the next focal point. Avoiding panning while you are walking.
I am shocked about the prices. I live in Munich and its almost the same level. I did not know Barcelona also has such high rental prices.
