An L.A. artist (Mark Ruffalo) suddenly finds his life upside down when his art show is cancelled and his model girlfriend leaves him. Forced to move into a rundown tenement, his encounters include oddballs wandering the hall, a lonely middle aged woman who makes spam casseroles for all the bachelors, a daffy prostitute and a Spanish Don Juan.

This movie is well written, acted and directed. No special effects, no explosions, just a well executed script. A surprise gem.

Loved the film. It perfectly captured the complexities of relationships between couples and between neighbors. Also I loved the portrayal of the pretentiousness of the modern avant-garde art world.

Excellent comedy. It actually made me laugh! Great acting, plot and humor!
Beth Ulrich was the best part of this movie. I need to find more of her work. I may not know much about art, but I know what I like. I didn't care for much of the art shown.
Just a serious note here about artist and don't mean just painters. There are a lot of very good "artists" (vocalist, musicians, painters, comedians...) that just never seem to get any traction or get that break and become famous/successful/recognized, but every bit as good as those that have.... and I salute you.

11:10 To me one of the funnier parts is the Pizza guy cutting the Pizza one slice at a time LOL. The whole point of a Pizza cutter is so you can roll it across the whole pie in three or four equal strokes. LOL. I though almost all actors know all about making pizza as they would have started out in the Restaurant business when trying to get by between acting jobs. LOL.

I really enjoyed the layout of this movie & how it shows the possibilities from choices near our front door. I Love the editing at the end w/ the credits...excellent credit run...excellent to the very end. :D Bonus to the person who did the credits. It'd be cool to see Mark Ruffalo in a modern situational comedy.

TRÈS BON FILM ! 10/10 ! CURIEUSEMENT,,, cela aide à comprendre la complexité d'une relation, les atermoiements, les trahisons aussi, les déceptions, et donc à relativiser la "gravité" des expériences que l'on a pu avoir, et dont on a parfois du mal à faire son deuil. L'auteur de ce film doit avoir une sacrée expérience en la matière! Car subtilement, tous les poncifs sont resservis, vous savez, ceux que nous avons entendus 10 fois: "je n'ai jamais dit ça à personne, mais: je t'aime" etc.
