Thank God you survived! Your story is different from what happened to my brother-in-law. None of our family ever heard of someone’s aorta dissecting. Halloween of 2021, my brother in law felt this sharp pain in his chest. He was immediately in surgery where they tried to repair the tears. Come to find out his aorta burst all the way down to his right leg! He was on life support, and tubes everywhere. The doctors did not think he’d live past the next hours but my family is a praying family, thank You Jesus! They weren’t able to repair the whole tear so they have to keep him on blood pressure medicine for the rest of his life. His kidneys were failing so he was on dialysis. He transferred to a rehab facility and is working on standing, sitting, etc. He’s got permanent stints throughout his body to prevent any clotting. Our God is so good! They hope to discharge him in February. He’s a walking miracle! I hope you’re doing better! Thanks for your story!

Thank you for your story. I am now 12 weeks out from my dissection and doing well. I too was very frustrated by my emergency room doctor who insisted for hours that I just had Covid even though I told him that I had a history of heart issues and had a stabbing pain in the middle of my chest. Well, you could see the blood drain from his face when the nurse who did the CT (finally) came running in and told him that the helicopter was arriving in minutes to take me to Baltimore's Shock Trauma at the UMMC because I had a 8CM dissection likely 8 hours ago. To make a long story short, I'm very grateful of the tremendous care I was given and the Lord's blessing of another chance at life. Take care and cherish every day.

I have a 4.6 cm ascending my heart doctor told me they just watch it until it grows to 5.5 so I'm very scared but they say it's better to leave it alone for now 😢
