Appreciated this video - 22:07 22:07 :Female age 49 Emergency aortic. Dissection repair, aorta replace and at 7 weeks post-op am having such a difficult time. Both with internal physical discomfort and emotional depression terrible thoughts of i could have died. I see a cardiologist for the first time this week & was told 22:07 that cardio rehab will help

My father passed away suddenly due to aorta dissection. He was 62 with no medical history. He was not using any medication! He was eating extremely healthy in fact everyone knew him with his strict diet- vegetables and fruit heavily, no fast food, junk food, no /super little salt, sugar, flour in regular diet. He was eating everything organic and buying foods from farmers market. He never smoked or drunk alcohol! He had his last cardiologist visit 5 years ago and no abnormalities that time. It is so frustrating not knowing the causes-what are your thoughts Doc?

I have just been diagnosed 2 wks ago with a 4.5cm Ascending Aortic Aneurysm (the one right at the top of the heart) and I was just accepted into a Study that the John Ritter Foundation is doing, a large Study...Genetic. They really truly think it may be genetic. Was he a flexible person? It can have something to do with a few things, Morfan Syndrome, EDS or V-EDS, where the collagen isn't performing in a correct manner (I did know about that) but I didn't know about the Aorta and genetics. This team is no doubt involved or knows about the Ritter Foundation. There was truly no way for your father to know, most are found before dissection looking for other things...I found mine quite by luck, at 57 yrs old, I actually have felt odd and paid for a CT Scan of my chest, talked my GP into it - I don't have high blood pressure, nothing...very into healthy eating, supplementing...truly, never been sick a day, but my 20 yr old daughter has extreme EDS - Ehlers Danlos Syndrom, look it up, you may see some aspects your Dad had...and we are very nervous that she may have been passed this from both myself AND her father. I am so sorry for your frustration - BUT it was nothing that your Dad did...nothing at all. Go easy, be well. My own father died of a sudden "heart attack" so I feel for you. (that is the question...was it a heart attack?) or Aortic dissection.

I appreciate the entirety of this presentation and all contributors. As a caregiver I also appreciate that you’ve acknowledged the emotional difficulties that families and patients deal with in the free math of AD. Thanks for this vlog. My wife is recovering from surgery for a type A dissection and it’s likely she will need more surgery further down the line. We had so many questions and worries but this vlog helps a lot.

Was diagnosed with an aortic dissection, spent a week at the Cleveland Clinic, being treated medically, but will I eventually have to have surgery? Was never mentioned

Should I be working if I have a arotic dissection? My legs hurt all the time and hard to catch my breath at times
