Aorta (anatomy)

Ғылым және технология

Looking at the huge, central artery of the aorta, how it runs through the thorax and abdomen, it's branches, and what happens when it breaks (and a bit of pathology and stuff).

Absolutely fantastic! Thank you Sam ! Like the David Attenborough of Anatomy! I was born with an ultra rare form of Thalassaemia and I have been sick since birth! My absolute Dream throughout life has been medicine! I never tire from learning from it and seeing it! It was my dream to follow it as a career but due to being so sick it was unachievable! The type of Blood disorder I have is called hexokinase enzyme deficiency and from what I have learnt under 20 cases to date have existed! Throughout life I have suffered with significant anxiety problems because of the vast amounts of treatment ! I am awaiting tests now to see if I have aortic problems and watching this really helped educate me ! I am incredibly grateful for the super clear and natural narrative you have when explaining! Thank you !

On 3rd December 2021, I had an acute Type B Aortic Dissection and lived to tell the tale. I can attest that the pain is like nothing you have ever felt before . It’s been 2 years since and I have learned more about the aorta from your video than I have been told in those years lol. Thank you. If you have ever seen the movie Alien, the part when it burst from his stomach, imagine that through your spine and you might have an idea.

I love your videos. Thank you. I have an important question to me. I have 60% blockage Mal at the Celiac Trunk, I need to know if the gut organs are receiving oxygenated blood from the lower two arteries or if my gut organs are truly working on only 40% of normal oxygenated blood. Are there oxygenated arteries (not the celiac )that go from the lower two trunks that go to the lower intestines that also flow to the gut organs such as the liver, spleen, pancreas, stomach? Do only oxygen poor arteries flow from the lower two trunks to gut organs, or there is no arteries that flow from there to the gut organs? Thank you. VERy unfortunate I didn't receive a reply. It was VERY important to me. I needed to know the true blood supply. Evidently helping your subscribed aren't important ant to you or else you would be very interested in what we say/ask. I'm disappointed.

Please tell me how a guy I play golf with had 2 arteries that were 100% clogged and 2 that were 95% & 97% clogged -- yet he had normal blood pressure?? Also -- how is it possible for this to be happening and the guy was walking around??? According to medical theory there should literally be NO BLOOD FLOW. The man had chest pain and went to the hospital, but didn't have a heart attack -- they gave him a quadruple by pass ---- But something tells me something is terribly wrong with the idea that you can have all these arteries essentially completely clogged yet he was functioning. HOW IT THAT EVEN POSSIBLE ACCORDING TO YOU THEORIES ON THE HEART. When he asked his doctors they said they had no explanations -- how the fuck is that possible??????????????????????????????????? Fact: NO improvement in heart disease or cognitive heart failure in 50 years --- yet doctors are getting very good at unclogging arteries. Did you EVER think that maybe the clogged artery is the Symptom of the problem and is a down river effect of the REAL PROBLEM. So, what is the REAL PROBLEM?????????????? Heart Doctors never ask this question -- why should they - when they make BIG BIG BIG BUCKS fixing the secondary problem. The medical establishment is disgusting corrupt, money is its GOD not health. If money is the goal of medicine than we will never have medicine that interested in Health. FUCK YOU ALL!!!!!!!
