Time to do some service on my Econoline including the AOD. I will greatly appreciate my newly installed 2 post lifts. Funny to see the 'QWIK TRUK' plate on the boogie van you talk of in the C10 project intro video :D

Yeah, that right, I did stick one of those plates on the van when I was working on it. I forgot that.

That transmission looked clean on the underside for 91,000 miles. It should be just fine on the inside I would think.

Putting a drain plug on the pan would have been a no- brainer, but none of them do it!

They do that so you will be more likely to change the filter and not just drain and replace the fluid.

@@OutOfOrderGarage I'll be honest about it, about 1/2 way through the seal change, I would have tightened things back up and lived with the leak if it wasn't too bad. A lot of parts that go haywire and get lost in the process.

Watching removal of parts was like having a tooth pulled!!! KZread to the rescue.

I have a 2006 E350 that I don't drive a lot so my pan gasket started leaking. I got a gasket and 8 quarts of fluid and a filter while I'm at it. Thanks for the video, I'm going to buy a under bed tote before I start!! 👍. You van is awesome. I bought our van for camping and hauling motorcycles. Ended up buying a full size truck anyway but just cant bring myself to selling the van. It runs sooooo good and it's fun to drive around. 😂😂

I love my van. Put over 10k on it, drive it almost everyday. Even took it on to the 2022 van Nats and 2023 Hot Rod Power Tour

Nice rims!!! A TEAM can u tell me what size tire and what size rim u use? BTW my 86 has a drain plug on the torque converter so I always drain that too

They are 15x7 Dodge Ramcharger rims from the '80s. Front tires are 255/60R15 and rears are 275/60R15

Dollar general trans fluid? I would have got some Motorcraft fluid.

What I don't get is why when you went thru a "nightmare" getting that apart why you wouldn't wait to get that other seal first before putting it back together :( What am I missing because I think your amazing!

Because I wanted to get it together and move on. Luckily that smaller seal doesn't leak.

@@QuickSpeedShop God I hope not! I'm having a hell of a time doing egr valve on mine. Turns out going to take the wheel covers off to get to it. Distributer is buried in there too so might do tune up while in there. Nightmare is understatement compared to GMC. Looking forward to more :)

i have a 1985 ford econoline with 302. i believe i have an AOD, how do i know? i know C6 has vacuum modulator on side of case, i believe AOD does not.

C6 is a 3 speed. AOD is a 4 speed OD

@@QuickSpeedShop i know that part, i know i sound like a retard. i adjusted TV cable with success and she has 1,2, and D indicator on steering column shift mechanism, with a circle around the D. is this indicative of overdrive?

It has an o-ring where it goes on the tube on the bottom of the valve body.

I just got an aluminum pan from summit for my AOD and it came with a little gasket where it mounts to the valve body, so its not necessary??

If it came with it put it in. This is the only C4 I have ever had apart so I'm not an expert.
