AOC Questions Big Bank CEOs

There’s a joke going around Washington about the best strategy for the Wall Street CEOs when they face off with lawmakers this week: Stay calm and let Jamie Dimon take over.
Unlike the rest of the bank leaders testifying before the House Financial Services Committee, the JPMorgan Chase & Co. boss has been in the congressional hot seat many times before. And rival executives point out, he has a tendency to dominate the conversation anyway.
The April 10 hearing has consumed big banks’ lobbying and public relations operations for weeks. They’ve compiled thick briefing binders on issues like small business lending and minority hiring, readied responses to pointed questions about pay and inequality, and conducted so-called murder boards -- practice sessions where chief executive officers are cross-examined by a team pretending to be hostile members of Congress.
But even with the extensive preparations, few predict that the executives will come out unscathed. An anti-Wall Street sentiment runs through the Democrats now in control of the financial services panel, particularly among a group of newly-elected progressives who are pulling the party to the left.
AOC Snub
A case in point is New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She and her staff have refused to meet with the bank CEOs’ main trade group ahead of the hearing, according to people familiar with the matter.
“Bulletproof vests covered with fire-retardant suits may not protect the banks,’’ Jonice Gray Tucker, a partner at the Buckley law firm in Washington, warned a group of bankers at a conference last week. “It’s just a question, unfortunately, of how much scrutiny and how bad it is.’’
More important than who gets scorched, however, is whether Wednesday’s hearing turns out to be a preview of the intense political heat that Wall Street could face throughout the 2020 presidential campaign. With critics like Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders seeking the Democratic nomination, the industry fears months of bad publicity and calls for big banks to be broken up.
Banks have been eager for Washington to turn the page on the 2008 financial crisis and instead focus on more recent business scandals, including those involving Facebook Inc. and other technology giants. They’d like to set a fresh narrative that highlights their post-crisis guardrails and the trillions of dollars they pump into the economy.

The solution is very simple people just may not like to hear it....regard a corporation that has committed a criminal act with the same scrutiny we apply to criminal organizations under RICO. Oftentimes the defense by senior executives is that they didn't know and therefore shouldn't be held accountable for criminal acts they blame on lower employees. Under RICO criminal organizations are held personally accountable for all crimes committed by their organization/corporation during their tenure. Put the pressure where it belongs it is their JOB to be as humanly aware as possible of potential crimes committed by their organization if they are not comfortable with the risk associated they are happy to not take an executive job and forfeit the millions if not billions of dollars in salary and bonuses associated.

Taxes over $300,000.00 to the treasury, so that the Congress can give it to the military, people on the dole, foreign aid, aborting children, and so on. Should I pay more? Or earn less. Maybe I should opt out and receive instead of give. If socialism rules the land, then you and I will get same, no matter how hard we work. So. I won't work hard anymore. Why should I? I've been critical of Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez on many things; our mores couldn't be more diametrically opposed, but I definitely appreciate how she goes after those who've used and abused the American public. I would hope she realizes Socialism is a dead-end road and that America will never be a Socialist nation. If she becomes a bit more of a centrist, she'll be a force to be reckoned with... and I would be inclined to offer her more support.

I hope she's just ignorant because that means she has potential to learn and she's got a lot of learning to do. It's going to be a big ego crash for AOC if she does wise up and learns. Otherwise she will cement herself very publicly as a dunce and that's just sad.

look even if you have half a brain and not just listened to CNN and late night comedy hosts all the time, you will know she is waaaay dumber than a box of rocks! She wants to imply socialist ideas that will be paid by the 1%.... guess how the 1% are made?? BY CAPITALISM! Even applying her own logic, we apply 70% marginal tax rate and drain the richest (that is assuming EVERYONE will pay), in just 2 years they will be completely depleted & WILL crash or just leave, then what? Who are you going to tax? Us! The middle class!! Please don't fall in this Obama kind of strategy, where if someone talks in your favour & confidently, there policies will automatically be great(Obama didn't do shit for us black folks)... I personally don't like trumps but so far the left is just offering maniacs like her or Bernie. Which will a 100% get trump reelected, cause ANYONE in America with just a little bit of independent brain & independent research can just see how the socialist and open border regime that they want, will choke & paralyze America. I PLEAD 🙏🙏 YOU to not belive me and just watch any video of Shapiro, Crowder or literally anyone with more than a single braincell and you will see how big of a loopholes they and there plans have.
