True story: A recovery I seen on YT they knew the oil drained out so they had planned on adding oil so they could use the vehicle to get it up a hill, forgot to add oil, 20 min into pulling up the hill started it and ran it till it sounded like the engine internals was banging. The truck was driveable had they not forgotten to add oil to it...

Knowing the proper tool for the job goes a long way to doing the job correctly. The wheel lift was the best truck for this job, unless you wanted to use a heavy recovery truck. A rollback would have required at least one or more repositions of the truck to get the recovery completed.

Not at all. I’d have done all that from one place, roll, load and go. Using the wheel lift truck required way more moving around.

Hey Dustin before owning me own truck I would slip seat like y'all do from time to time it's a whole lot easier if you throw together a small manageable duffel bag with the things that you are used to and take with you to make your recovery more manageable just food for thought as far as everyone stating what Donnie needs to do I think they should be in his shoes for a fee hours they wouldn't make it a day trying to keep up with the business side as well as managing a fleet of trucks and making sure everyone does put back what they use and if it's broke at least tell Donnie he will get to it not like you can Go to Walmart and buy this rigging great video brother

I generally do take my important stuff with me when I know I’m switching trucks, however I was on vacation when my truck got put down, so I couldn’t get my stuff out so I had to work with what I had.

Just curious I know on a trailer when you have more weight in the back then the front the back tends to sway at highway speeds. Do you notice that at all with the wheel lift truck when going faster?

For the most part it’s not bad on sway. The heavier trucks will cause the front end to be light, making turning and stopping a bit harder though

When winching a roll over like this do you have to give the cables slack once the truck is turning over or it does it do it automatically?

Dustin, I have a 2024 Toyota Rav4. The owners manual says the recovery eye tool is only available on vehicles made in Japan. Not available in the ones built in Canada. How do you pull it without damage??? Thanks for your videos.

It depends on the situation. I never use those eyes anyway. I always go to a control arm or a wheel.

Because you never leave the drive axle on the ground unless you’re gunna disconnect the driveline. The front is also the heavier end of the truck.
