@@NexiTech One thing to add : can you maybe test how fast you can print with the predator and your smoothers? I would like to know if the extruder can handle high throughputs like 0.6mm nozzle 0.3333 layer height 100mm/s without grinding the filament or under extrusion. If this printer can also print fast I am definitely sold!

Thank you for the great videos. I was trying to decide between the small delta or the Cr 10 Model. Then I came across the Predator. and then came across this video and I was sold on this one. I was wanting to be able to do larger prints and really like this style of printer. This will be my second printer, and the first one being a Cube 3 which I was always modifying to keep it working. I think this one is going to do wonders for me. Was going to buy the upgrades you suggested, but after reading comments going to wait to see what comes in the box first. Great videos!!!! Very well put together.

I've seen some mixed reviews of this printer, but I get the general impression that people who had issues didn't tighten the working bits correctly and blame the machine for poor quality. I was actually about to buy the Chiron last night but gearbest killed their sale 3 days early. Ended up going to the Anycubic website to see what the deal was and it turned out the Chiron and a number of other models were fully sold out, but the Predator was available, and $40 bucks cheaper WITH 3kg of PLA! Score!!! Your review definitely helped the sale though and put some concerns to rest. After further consideration, I think this size printer is probably better off not having a huge heated bed to lug around.

Thank you, Nexi. This is a nice review again. As a new owner of that printer I appreciate your mods and the printing tips. In my case setting up the printer took much longer, because one of the end stop sensors didn't trigger. It was easy to fix once I understood the issue. My box came with an additional pair of carbon fibre tubes, but the cable cover was missing. One question: do the pulley sliders hold position on your model, when switching off the printer? Mine sink down until the nozzle touches the bed (if I would let it happen ;-))

Hi Nexi! Great channel and very detailed video! However, I have a question on that printer: I purchased a Predator a month ago and, after installing TL smoothers and dampers, I started printing (PLA and PETG). Unfortunately, I'm experiencing printing problems: massive stringing (retraction settings 6mm and 60mm/s, but I tried also do change these parameters), very poor bridging, pimples on external layers and scars on top surface... Not exactly good prints, and I print at "only" 40mm/s... I noted that the difference respect to your printer is that my Predator arrived with the V5 j-head clone, not the V6 as you declared. Do you confirm that your Predator arrived with V6 clone and not V5 clone? Thanks very much

great review! Referring to the TL smoothers and motor dampers: How much more quiet did it get? Would be great if they had used better stepper drivers right away from the factory :-( Do you know which stepper drivers are used on the original board?

Stepper motor dampers make printer movement much quieter and TL-smothers makes print quality much better by removing salmon skin artifacts. You can see in the video when I did sound comparison before and after installation. Difference is huge!

I bought this based on this video. they did put stepper dampners in and i can barely hear it print. But, i do have 2 problems and hope you might have a solution or two. First is bed leveling, it isn't happening. I've done it with bed cold and hot and always have one side that is not level, seems low. The other problem is print quality. I did install tlsmoothers but get rough verticle faces on the low side. I do have 2 Anycubic linear deltas, and a flsun, so I'm not new to deltas. I'm going to wipe the bed with alcohol and check for warpage in the bed next. But if you have any clues I would appreciate it. Loved the video and hope to see more.

Apart from the size, how would you compare this to Ender 5 in terms of print efficiency and print quality? Based on this video, it seems Predator would not need any upgrades (motor dampers are now stock) except for diods, for achieving perfect prints. Both printers are similarly priced. Does the Delta type movement offer improvements over Ender 5? Can delta print in high both at 2-3cm figurine scale and large scale?

hey hows it going, so i recently acquired a predator printer and have been getting to grips with it.... i got some great results at 0.2 layer height but it a went wrong when i changed to the golden layer height 0.1618...is there a setting i should change.... it seemed like the z offset was wrong but i can only microstep by 0.4 at a time but it seems to need even smaller adjustments to get the first layer right at 0.1618... could you advise if i need to change anything? many thanks.

  • @NexiTech

With TL-smother that I used there is no need for that. They are already in correct positioning. If you have the wrong wires position on yours don't panic, just follow the stepper motor wires polarity and if needed use tweezers and press pins on TL-smoother connector and pull out wire and change it to right position.
