This is one of Mariah's best pieces, a vocal masterpiece that wasn't even considered for a Grammy in the best pop vocal category back then. Mariah was heavily scrutinized by the critics, due to her marriage to Tommy Mottola, a fact that deeply hurt her artistic reputation, quite unfairly. The background vocalists are Mariah's steady team of sisters Kelly and Shanrae Price and Melonie Daniels, along with Cindy Mizelle and Mark C. Rooney (her good friend Trey Lorenz became a staple later on). Fun fact, when I met David Morales quite a few years ago, he told me that the Price sisters and Melonie were the best background vocalists he ever heard, and would do something with them outside of Mariah's club remixes. I see that you have the "regular" 31 stem pack, there's a very rare pro pack that uses the 32nd stem of mastered reverb on the main vocal, which was used for the finalized album version, which gets cut shorter, so we were lucky enough to hear all the vocals that were recorded in the pack.

This was fully written and produced by Mariah. Sony required Walter’s name added to everything because they thought having a male name attached would help sales and credibility. Also, Mariah has said she wrote this song from God’s perspective as to what she felt like God was communicating to her in times of need.

Mariah wrote in her memoir that this song is about God and what she imagined God would be saying to her whenever she was feeling down and lonely. The vocal performance is insane. The notes she is hitting.

One of the hardest vocally demanding songs to perform. This song is so Comforting yet Strong. The only thing better is the Remix (C&C Remix ) around 11mins long 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

Mariah´s lyrical content is probably the most important there is. They´re songs about self affirmation, self respect, self esteem and hope. Themes that speak of what she had to go through and what we all go through sometimes or oftentimes. It´s extremely relatable. I, for one, have always been uplifted by her music and this is why I´ll never criticize her for anything she might do. Her back catalog alone is a masterpiece to revere. An angel on this earth. And a voice that pierces straight to your heart.

You can hear the background voices of "Melonie Daniels and the Price sisters" you know what this whole song was an art hahaha! Walter and Mariah are freaking amazing.

Obsessed with these videos. Thank you thank you thank you for making them. I put in my headphones and get lost in all the eargasms. Came for the Mariah, but very pleasantly surprised by the content. If you ever come across Jesus Oh What a Wonderful Child from her first Xmas album, I would lose my mind. It’s a vocal powerhouse.

where can you get her multitracks?!

How does one go about finding stems? Are these only available on mastering/engineering software? And if so, can you deconstruct any album/song into each stem by uploading to the program? Or is this something only available to someone with access to the original masters?

With how many people that are involved in producing, recording,& mastering in a song(esp a popular one) it makes sense that w/the internet thru the years someone would come across this. I would think that if u r a dj or someone that works in recording engineering, u would know how to find these stems.
