Close to his prime? He was awful against Real Sociedad today. Too inconsistent and hasn't been up to par with his finishing. For the money we paid him what a waste. Would rather have got a centre back and a striker than getting Antoine. All i can hope is when Messi leaves is that Antoine can play the no.10 position and become a playmaker and evolve into usual self like we saw with Atletico and France.

I think Griezmann great player, but barca need revolution. When pep start, he sell deco, ronaldinho, yaya toure. And give chance players, what was more fast and can play more intensive. Busquets, Xavi, Messi, Pedro. Now we had same situation. Our leaders great masters, but they can't intensive play, they more slowly, not good work in defense. Need sell all and build team around fati, puig, de jong etc

@@blanco3114 I completely agree that we should build our team around Fati, Puig, Pedri, de Jong however I believe if Griezmann played in the no. 10 role with no Messi in the team I feel he will thrive again but I dont see him scoring 20 goals a year. More like getting 15 goals and 8-10 assists per year which I would take. Issue is soon as we lose Messi we will have no one who can play that no. 10 role in which we can't just sell him straight away. If you remember that team yes we sold our veterans however you have to remember that we still need experienced players in the spine. So I think ter Stegen, de Jong, Antoine will be our main spine players and if we can go and buy a CB who can lead the backline and buy a clinical striker will make our team go in the right direction. Selling Antoine at this stage won't be beneficial if Messi does leave in the summer. Then you said he will slow play down. I think Griezmann is hard working and I think if u give him wingers who have pace and a striker who can makes runs and run behind the defence then you can get his full potential. Right now the issue is we don't have fast players as they are injured and they are not clinical enough at this moment. I will keep Antoine if we get rid of Messi cos we need experienced players in the spine and i think he can be influential for the next few years after Leo leaves.
