Old antique rusty scissors restoration. These rusted sheep shears were made around 1930. Scissors were found in an old wooden house in the mountains. The house was abandoned in 1939. I don't have sheep, but I decided to restore them. Removed the rust and preserved the scissors. I hope you liked my restoration.

My son is in 7th grade , honor student , we watch this channel a lot together. About 1/2 way through he had a question ... " how is the sheep able to hold them" ... l mentioned it to my wife who said " well they are called sheep shears ,aren't they ?" Thank you for your thought provoking channel. Nice work on the shears.

My parents had a similar pair that may have originally belonged to my great-grandfather, who was a farmer in Minnesota.
Here in greece we use this scissors to trim the sponges we collect from water
My next door neighbor has a very similar pair from a British foundry he uses to trim weeds I had a macheti from the same manufacturer

Hello, the scissors that I know are for grooming horses, not for sheep... they are very similar, I don't know the ones for shearing sheep, because I don't live in a sheep area... in Argentina they are also used to make knives when they are very old ...they are very difficult to sharpen to use as scissors, if they are sharpened by someone who does not know how to do it, they will be damaged and they generally end up being knives... all the ones I saw in my country are made in Austria or England... Я один не понял, зачем объязательно резать верёвку ножом на поверхности металла? Нельзя просто обрезать, не прикасаясь ножом к металлу?

Always surprises me how,some one will spend what seems like hours scrubbing forlornly at rusty steel parts and then AFTER that they take to it with the buffing wheel and sandpaper. Go figure.
