I can just imagine a large black lady all dressed up for a jazz concert, singing this in a traditional style, on a stage of fancy expensive materials in a fancy ballroom. All the people are wearing the most expensive things they can afford, carelessly listening to the silent hum of a fake society. Then out of nowhere(when the chorus chimes in) a hurricane of biblical proportions blasts through the wall in the back of the stage, leaving the band perfectly fine while the crowd runs from the chaos unfolding around them. The singer just stares into the camera with a melancholic eyes while lighting pulses through the rain, dust, and smoke lighting up the chaos in the beautiful brutality that is Mother Nature. Then once the song is over and she is done with her song, the hurricane and chaos stops as quickly as it began. Debris and water and dirt is everywhere. The ballroom is destroyed with exception of the stage. Everyone’s fancy attire is torn and ripped, stained and smudged. Make up is ruined and run off, hair is let loose. Then the sun comes through the clouds. The crowd looks around in astonishment, as if discovering nature for the first time. Birds chirp, animals run, people feel a cool breeze flow easily on by. The camera turns back to the lady singing, to see she’s now smiling as if she just completed a grand task. Reconnecting ourselves to what is natural, to what is real. Leaving the fake people and lives behind. Moving onto greener pastures. The restoration of life.
