I can't believe they film this!! Shocking clipper work

I was cutting bowl cuts in the 80's. That is what this is. A pixie is a short layered cuts. As close as you can cut with your fingers. This is a bowl cut with textured ends.

I'm a senior too and I got a haircut just like this one 6 months ago at Great Clips for $12. I was so traumatized that I haven't had a haircut since. I went in looking like a woman and came out looking like a man with a bowl haircut. The stylist (if you can even call him that, didn't even ask me what I wanted, just started chopping and shearing. Stylists do not understand that senior woman are already feeling less feminine than they used to be because of menopause. To give them a haircut that looks manly only adds insult to injury. There are lot of cute and FEMININE pixie cuts out there that look feminine and sexy. This was NOT one of them.

@@lanecrawford8675ahhh the typical "I'm not being rude *but*.." ie - I'm completely being rude. Whether you're lucky to have a lot of money at your disposal or not, you shouldn't just be butchered.. Unless you're fully expecting to look like shit when you retire and/or have less money. If someone can't cut hair they should go do something else, or carry on training until they can. Being cheap shouldn't equal being shit. P.s Try having some empathy.

Actually, I think it looks great on her. Gave her more volume ad lift. Made her hair look soft and full. Easy blow dry and go style and always put together. Not everyone can wear this cut, but this woman pulls it off. I thought the same thing at first, until finished. She does not look like a man.

Cutting my hair I was fed up doing it myself. Then went to go have another hair cut done at same place different stylist. I thought she did a pretty good job. I was impressed with her using the blade for volume done at top in the back. But after a day I styled it the way I wanted it and it wasn't what I liked. I did an over do and cut myself and now am pretty happy with my hair cut results.

I love the short hair! It's so liberating from my thick unruly hair and a tub full of hair tools, pins and products I have to use when its long. Because of that a I would often end up putting it in a ponytail anyway!

I know it's not an easy job. Used to do it several years ago. Lousy pay, no benefits (at least back then), and some people think you don't have brains. Not true. It takes a lot of talent, patience and listening skills to be a good licensed hairdresser. I got bored with it and left it for better things. Word of mouth, I guess, to find a good one.

Soooo bad! My hair was shoulder length..angled at the front I just loved it. The hairdresser asked if I wanted the same lines I said I did and only wanted went a trim. She cut it above my ears!! ..longer in the back..she butchered me. I'm 72 years old..I cried for a week. JENNA at G Cl... in Derry NH...I had told her to slow down she was cutting it so fast..her response was I know what I'm doing..I've been cutting hair for 20 years!!

I know, why is it when you sit down they start in like they're being tracked with a stop watch, ridiculous. The last time I went in she left one whole side of my hair uncut in the back, like a dogs ear. I was driving in the car and I could just feel it and I reach back there and I thought oh my god you're kidding me, that's 3 yrs ago and haven't stepped foot into a salon

I have had a brilliant stylist and a short, sharp haircut for over 20 years. It has always been much admired for its style and smartness. I have never seen a mess like this. It is positively ‘jagged’.

No part of this horrific video was a pixie. It looked like a student struggling their way thru an undercut, disconnected Bob. This was painful and if this was done to my mom or grandmother I would have HUMILIATED the fool who did this!

From the beginning with that erratic movement of the clippers in damp hair, it just went from bad to worse. I would never put such a closely-shaved haircut on a senior woman...never!

I am over 60 and I have a bob haircut that is slightly longer than my chin. I have been told by hair stylists that a bob is too young of a style for me and that I should get a cute pixie cut. This video is the reason why I will not let anyone attempt to give me a pixie cut. I now have a stylist who will cut my hair the way I want it.

Pixie Bob's are very in at the moment. Shorter at the back with longer layers at the front but you need a good stylist to cut it not like this butcher.

Don’t let anyone tell you what is “too young”. You deserve the hair you want, not the uniform for “aging women”.

It happened to me 2 weeks ago. Still regretting. You know of your haircut is bad when NOBODY AT WORK SAYS A WORD ABOU IT.. my hair was shoulder length.

This is why I do my own hair. I've had too many "stylists" absolutely ruin my hair.

Well, I am truly blessed. I have a my hair cut every two weeks. It grows fast and I just tell my beautician, no problem, it will grow out! We just know not to do that again.

I have the same cut. I cut it myself. I was mesmerized watching the stylist. I use multiple mirrors. I don't suggest anyone do what I do. I have been cutting my hair that way for decades. (Not the style, with mirrors).

I'm 69 with white, white, curly, curly hair....down to the middle of my back. I call it my "covid' hair. It goes up in a lovely, curly bun which makes me look so much younger. In Florida, my curly bun beats the heat and the humidity. It's the way our foresisters wore it.

LOVE this cut! And to all the Negative Nancy amateurs…it’s called “EDGY” for a reason! She looks fantastic!

I’m really surprised at all the negative comments, I really thought her hair had so much more body and gave her face neck and head a beautiful shape afterwards. I thought it was genius! I was confused why clippers were used on wet hair. also confused about why after she spent all that time trimming and fine-tuning the ends only to continue clipping again later on, chopping off all that work. not sure if the client didn’t like it and she had to make some adjustments? But overall I think it looks beautiful. I do agree it would’ve been nice to see a before and after at the end without the mask on, She must be a high-risk patient. I appreciate the time and energy it took to film this account, thank you🙏🏻

Anytime I’m forced to go to a new operator the first thing I say is, “Keep in mind please, that when I walk out of here, I will be either your best or your worst advertisement”. Bless this poor woman’s heart. That horrid cut will take a while to grow out 🤨.

I think it looks great! Shorter than I like mine, but the stylist gave her a very precise cut.

I knew it would be a disaster from the start when I saw the type of calm she was using. Become she used is not a styling comb. The next mistake she did what I had to cut her hair wet with the Clippers. Hair gets bunched up in the Clippers and causes those awful knicks. She messed up on the first go-around so now she had to try and cover up the mess he made. I was a hairdresser I know what I'm talking about. I'm wondering if this is in Beauty School

As someone who has worn short hair all their life, this was a very poor cut. Her use of clippers was excessive and will cause problems as the hair grows out. Ladies if you are thinking of going short, make sure of the stylists ability to do it right the first cut and not have to keep going back and fixing mistakes.

I can do this with a feather razor. Makes it much more feminine. No lines and way faster. The razor on white hair is so much softer.

Hint. You dont cut wet hair with clippers.only dry hair. When you cut wet hair they don't cut and you have the problems you are having as shown in this video.

...and wet hair shrinks. Been many years since school...didn't finish, but I know it to be true..learned hard way lol! I prefer razor..then I can choose. Going to a pro...1st time in many years. 😁Yes you do. But you need PROFESSIONAL clipper for it. Oster Titan or Bebyliss will do it effortlessly.

You are all just killing me. A hairdresser JUST butchered me with this same cut. Asked her to neaten up what I did (left 3" all around, needed blending). THIS was my punishment.

Yes. Some punish you if you say the wrong thing, rub them the wrong way, are happy or attractive. Two stylists were laughing after she chopped off all my long hair with Dracula sideburns. I asked for shoulder length cut. A gay guy got an attitude and chopped my hair so unbalanced. It's sad. You get mistreated and bullied even at salons Women and men are mean. I've had lots of those experiences and now I never go to salons.

@@SA-ud9nf I gave up with the masochistic hairdressers bought a comb scissors and do it myself now. Saved thousands of dollars as I now do all our cuts in house. My daughter is nearly 25 and does her own hair now and she has NEVER been to a hairdresser. We have done all our own dyeing work too. You keep doing what you are doing and get the look you want without the aggravation and mental trauma.

Never thought I'd have parts of my hair shaved but do love those clippers now! It's not for everyone.

This cut is something you’d see on an 18 year old aspiring rock star...little boy band. She now practically has no hair but she’ll still have to use a hot roller in order to keep from being super embarrassed every time she has to go out. And it is going to grow out totally funky.

This was really scary for the first half until I realised what was happening 😲..then scariest when I saw what had happened.. Yikes 😲!!

That cut was perfect and I love natural grey.

I am over 50 and I usually get the Jammie Lee Curtis look. I may try this one next time.

I am 50 years old had lovely thick wavy shoulder length hair was growing out my old color during covid. Went to a saloon to get it cut she did an absolutely horrendous. Undercut thinned out my fringe it is wispy and stringy. Similar to this lady. , I reckon she was jealous as her own bleached blonde hair was wafer thin. I got a full refund I will never go back to a hairdresser again. When it grows back I shall plait it , put in a bun like my Spanish nana did

I wish I could say the same thing! I used to have very thick healthy hair but then I got covid twice and now my hair is fine, thin and frizzy. I am 66 and it isn’t growing back. So sad.

@@willowraine5514 Oh no! You know, many years ago I went through chemo. Same thing happened, but when my hair came back, it was coarser. I have a lot of hair, but it was never the same texture as before!

I love it! Snazzy, stylish hair style. She looks way younger ♥️

I wouldn't have the guts to go that short, but it looks really good, and you didn't even add product to it to make it look thicker.

I really hope this lady liked her haircut because it took the stylist a very long time just to cut her hair using clippers mostly due to her leaving her hair wet and partly because I think she was trying to cover up her mistakes. After clipping, she cut her hair making sure to cut evenly, then ended up clipping that part too. I do hope she liked her haircut!

You may be correct retired hairstylist master barber here masks ruined the biz costs time materials double. ... so 50 S haircut ... expect it.

@@MacchiatoSwirlGirl i doubt ur in my LEAGUE. I broke ground . Cosmologists like play things . To me master barber CANADIAN champions when i was in hair school world champions we usually get drunk ..stars . Dont get mad at me i a black belt and one of the only non gay hairstylists. So ego yep.

The second haircut is beautiful!

I was curious so I watched to the end. I used to wear my hair short and I don’t recall my stylist going through these steps. But at the end the haircut looked cute on the lady. I hope she liked it.

And this nightmare is exactly why I keep putting off getting my long, thin hair cut into a Bob! Scary!

Well, this brings back a bad memory. I had a haircut from hell a couple weeks ago. It looks horrid! I told the stylist what I wanted and she kept cutting and cutting. I didn't realize what she was doing. I'm letting my grey hair come in and asked her to get rid of the blonde parts in it. Well, she sure did. I walked out of there looking like I had been scalped. I didn't confront her. I actually thought is this what I'm really seeing? Why do some stylists get scissor happy and cut hair like they were mowing a lawn. It makes you wonder how did they get their license ???? This is almost criminal!! The stylist that buzzed off this woman's hair should have just put a bowl on her head and cut it. I feel bad for this lady. We are paying money for this and we get haircuts from hell!!! I'm getting mad again looking at this!!! 😳😲

I cringed at how much hair was cut off with the clippers. Her hair was so fine and thin you just saw scalp. Looked like the haircut my boys got when they were young.

Yes. It's terrible. Sylists seem to cut and shave off hair like an obsession and the customer is subjected to a bad hair cut and sadness afterwards when they looked forward to looking better. What a let down. I remember my long hair being chipped off so short I felt horrible. The stylist did it intentionally since she had an attitude. Probably competitive. Never again.

To be honest, I pretty much went straight to the end to see how good she would look. Oh my gawd, did I get a surprise. The woman wasn't smiling was she.

This lady's hair is quite fine and a bit thin for this kind of edgy cut. That undercut is pretty severe, but her hair color is amazing for a very short cut!

I can't believe anyone even posted this. I spent my life cutting family and friends hair. My own as well. I did a cut like this a bazillion times with far less time and much better results. I understand that a head of thin hair is far more difficult to cut so I would never have attempted that cut on hair that thin! What a disaster.
