I don't know why, but every time this song comes on, I imagine that I'm in a training montage of an 80's movie. lol

I don't what is more awesome about this song: the amazing chugging riff, the chunky bass guitar, the killer drum beat, or Joey Belladonna's songbird voice.

Probably one of the best songs - if not THEE best song - on this masterpiece of an album, and Joey's power scream at 3:53 (in the vein of Rob Halford or Eric Adams of Manowar) is just legendary..

God,this track is a perfect example of why I adore Scott and Dan's guitars sound on this album. They're just so damn chorusy and lively, and they really help to make sure every spot of the album is covered, and not feeling empty like a lot of the songs feel on Among The Living, which is a shame, because I love Among. But jeez, if Among had Spreading's production, I'd be drooling over it~

Few weeks ago, I downloaded this record to my ipod. Since then, I play it almost everyday. Didn't remember when was the last time I heard it.... It had to be years ago, maybe a decade... I had this record on cassete! Love this song! Also, if you want to know more about the end of Hitler, watch The Downfall.

I love the "Manilla Road meets Iron Maiden" feel of that song, more heavy/US power than thrash in many ways, a great track with inspired riffs and melody! At that time being a thrash band wasn't just playing at the same beat all the time and recycling the same riffs ever and ever, those guys grew up in the 70s and took inspiration from the wide musical range of that period, modern thrash bands should the same instead of taking inspiration from just one aspect of thrash (some actually do, like Vektor or Revocation, who developped their own thing then, but most others just play boring generic up-tempo thrash without any identity).

To me this song is the perfect example on how much Anthrax are influenced by Iron Maiden. It is so meldoc and even the main riff... is a gallop! On top of that this song would sound great if Bruce Dickinson sang it, in my opinion. But: Joey Belladonna is my favorite metal vocalist and he did a phenomenal job singing this great song!

ad 1: unless you speak German better than i speak English you'd better not complain about me butchering English. ad 2: so you say you know German history. prove it. ad 3: all i did was taking quotes from the song and comparing them to German history. they all fit. conclusion: anthrax sing about hitler in this song. prove me wrong or an hero.
