SODOM, DESTRUCTION, KREATOR, ANTHRAX, SLAYER, METALLICA(EARLY ONLY).. definatly a few more I missed were the best and most influential thrash bands by far!

@JeffWatersRules considering Steve Harris writes most all of Iron Maiden's stuff and they started in 1975 and Anthrax wasn't a band till 1981 I doubt that at all.

This song is about about the gunslinger from the Dark Tower books by Steven King. Scott Ian is a huge Steven King fan. Other King inspired Anthrax songs include Misery loves company (Misery), Among the living (The Stand) and Skeleton in the closet (Apt Pupil).

I like 80s Metallica better than Anthrax but enter sandman is a joke of a song in all reality. That said the black album has a few ok tunes like through the never, of wolf and man, my friend of misery, the struggle within

Is it just me or can you tell Frank Bello is TOTALLY influenced from Steve Harris? Disagree? Listen to the bass line from about 0:40 to 0:46. Totally Harris

Megadeths Mustaine singing makes my ears commit suicide

First album was entirely stolen from Dave Mustaine. After that, we had The Lightning and Puppets wich were awesome and mostly the work of Cliff Burton, best bass player ever, then he died... Metallica managed to work out one more good album before they went corporate.

Without Mustaine there is no Metallica~Scott Ian. He wasn't lying when he said that Metallica got its sound from Dave. The first two albums sound like something Dave Mustaine made. There's a reason why Metallica choose Dave for lead guitar after a five minute warm up audition they saw his talent and were in awe.

James had already written hit the lights,motorbreath,seek and destroy and two more. Dave co-wrote 4 other songs. Cliff was truly musically good but it was mainly James who wrote the songs with cliff.

boom shred james quit playing guitar. After mustaine joined he started playing properly. Mustaine was metallica, then it was cliff/mustaine, then it died. Dave wrote every note on kill em all.

Lothar Mallea he co wrote 4 songs and Jump In The Fire is his song Motorbreath was written by James when he was in high school that's why he is only one with credits to the song even Dave admitted this in an article
