    Gotta love Arsenio if, for no other reason, that he would routinely bring on hard rock and heavy metal bands like Anthrax and Megadeth that no other late night host would touch.

    I was there. Anthrax had to start over 3 times because they had the crowd too close to the band and the guitar players guitar cord got unplugged 2 different times... Finally they made the crowd back up. I think it was 1992. Wow. I am getting old!! YIKES.

    Anthrax has never been the same since Dan Spitz left - he was so integral to their sound.

    I am glad that you enjoyed the Bush era... but, most anthrax fans did not agree... his voice is powerful but just not right for this band... perfect for Armored Saint, though...

    Both are great singers but Joey does seem to have a hard time belting out the Bush era Anthrax..

  • @willrichtor
    @willrichtor12 жыл бұрын

    @barfface4000 Why? Because Bush couldn't commit. That's it. Joey was their second choice this time around. No offense to him, he nailed the vocals on Only last year when I saw them, but that's how it went. They got petitions to bring Bush back and they did but it fizzled out. They were always a good thrash band, but they weren't as good as Megadeth, Metallica, Sepultura, Testament, Slayer, Exodus... SHame on them for deviating from standard Thrash formula and becoming more.

    I was in the Marine Corps stationed in Okinawa, Japan when this aired. I was really disappointed at the time. Anthrax was my favorite band. Leading up to this, Metallica put out the Black Album and Megadeth put out Countdown to Extinction, both were good, but seemed a little tame compared their earlier efforts. I heard Anthrax got the singer from Armored Saint, so I was eager to hear new material with John Bush...eeeesh. I get this. John is a great vocalist, powerful and all that, but the sound of the band changed. I was already into early 90's death metal by this point so I'm on a different musical path of Napalm Death, Carcass, Mortification, Obituary, and Morbid Angel. Looking back, I can appreciate the 90's era Anthrax, but it is not a favorite. Give me Spreading the Disease and Among the Living any day over Sound of White Noise.

    @Jaos291 LOL. yeah ok. The Bush era Anthrax was a joke. Stomp? Volume 8? Garbage! SOWN was 'good' I suppose but was more grunge, sounds like Soundgarden not Anthrax.

    @Jaos291 no the real thrash metal was belladonna, the real anthrax was belladonna, when i think of anthrax i think of 80s songs like indians, madhouse, caught in a mosh, etc so belladonna is anthrax

    I remember when this single was released and how pissed I was that one of the greatest thrash metal bands ever changed into alternative pussies. Anthrax was headlining huge venues during the persistence of time era and were on top of the world. Then they decided to change singers and go for a more alternative and grunge sound .... made no sense. Volume 8 and stomp422 were honestly embarrassing...hopefully the new anthrax cd is back to thrash
