ANTHONY JOSHUA TALKS UNI DORM DRAMA AND LOOKS AHEAD TO OLEKSANDR USYK 2 | ROAD TO REDEMPTION

Ойын-сауық

Before every big moment in Anthony Joshua's career you know we need to have him sitting next to Savage Dan for JD to break-down what happened last time out and what's next. The Watford man has got revenge in his sights as he prepares for Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia on August 20 and Road To Redemption set about finding out what he thought of the first go around, his viral moment in a dorm room earlier this summer, how he's getting his belts back and more.

Gotta give it to AJ on one point though...he came into the division during a time when Fury/Wlad fought what is regarded as possibly the worst heavyweight title fight of all time...then Fury was retroactively banned by UKAD for failing a drug test. The division was in tatters with paper belt holders and AJ unified 3 belts, would have got the WBC too if Wilder had bothered to sign for the fight. The guy has fought and beaten Parker, Pulev, Povetkin, Wlad, Takam, Ruiz and has fought Usyk. That is all in probably less than 30 fights. Best heavy resume of any boxer who started this century.

The thing I like about AJ is he’s almost always reminding me why I’m a fan. Not perfect, but a brother who seems to be committed to being perfected in things that matter. One request: please don’t lose the gains in footwork I saw early in the Usyk fight. What he said about losing confidence was so deep, because it seemed to manifest in the way he abandoned his footwork, and became an easier target for an already great boxer. Just an observation from a fan who hasn’t spent nearly enough time in the ring to be taken too seriously, but still…for what it’s worth?

I think AJ's mindset is the problem. He says "the goal is to win" instead of envisioning taking his opponents head off! He says after the first round with usyk, he thought "he has 11 more to go" which shows he just went in there to survive and win by points! He says if he were to change thr first fight he will go in there with usyk truly believing he can do it! It can be deduced AJ killer mindset is gone and he doesn't belief in himself anymore. He keeps demanding respect as he lets words of his haters dictate he who he is. AJ needs to learn from wilder fury 3. Wilder kept getting up because he went in there for fury's head! AJ needs to quit acting nice and u leash the beast within!

I understand that he has to be cautious as to not let the opposition know too much but from watching Usyk's training videos, that dude isn't playing so I hope although no gruelling questions were asked in this interview, AJ is doing his homework and instilling in himself the passion that he once had. The only times we’ve seen that aggression and needle from him is when people disrespect him, like D Whyte, the big baby Miller press conference, Pulev fight. When people are respectful he doesn’t seem to come out firing as hard. He really needs to get stuck in to Usyk this time…just like everyone told him to do in the last fight but he chose to box the boxer & come up short, lesson learned let’s hope. Come on AJ! 💥🥊

Hahaha. So much drama. Actually, Usyk is not fighting in anybody's war. He's not a soldier. And as a former solder the only way I would want him anywhere near me is if we're having a boxing match against the enemy. Usyk is doing moral stuff. Putting on camo and posing with guns and real soldiers for photo-ops. I don't know if you're really that gullible or not. Its hard to tell. No disrespect to Usyk. The guy is clearly a great fighter and Joshua's problem is cardio. He doesn't have the cardio to keep up with Usyk for 12 rounds. For the same reason he wouldn't be able beat Tyson Fury. But Tyson Fury beats Usyk for sure. He has everything. Size, height, cardio, speed, and KO power. Nobody is beating him, if he's still fighting.

Thing is AJ speaks and reveals every single weakness he has, sometimes I wish he'd put these interviews out after the fight. Garcia reminding of the basic fundamentals that should never leave the forefront of your mind, training like you have nothing and everything to gain should be as normal as breathing. Dude once said an hour after Floyd would leave the club he would be running. Dude said Crawford is often the first in the gym and the last to leave. I don't think it's that hard to become a world champion, it's staying there that is the diligence of focused thought and true living, you know what living a sport looks like? Lewis Hamilton, that boy don't skip a beat, the Williams sisters, the baller Messi or Renaldo, Misty Copeland, its their work ethic and approach to their craft why I study them, not so much their gains.

Joshua tried to beat Usyk at his own game, bad decision but it was bold to try and it makes sense that he had a period of focusing on boxing craft especially with everyone banging on about him being robotic. People are always so critical, you cant win. If he plays to his own strengths he has a good chance. In the third round against Pulev, Joshua went for it and looked savage but Pulev wasnt cooked and Joshua managed to not gas out and got him out of there later. He's learned! Nobody knows what will happen hence it's so exciting! Personally I think one of them will get caught first and then a war will break out that could end with either man victorious but more likely Usyk. Kind of hope its AJ though even though it would be great for the people of Ukraine if Usyk wins. By rights Fury should fight them both either way if he wants to claim to be best of his era. @@ImThaatGuyG why did you decide to outbox the boxer? When you saw it wasn’t working, why couldn’t you switch tactics ? How was usyks power given that he almost got a knock out. The list goes on. Am a massive Joshua fan but if he gonna make an interview and just be a fanboy then don’t ask questions. Tell some jokes or something else
