Wilder made some good points about here about AJ being built up to the point where there was too much pressure. Also the point where AJ was embarrassed. First fight in the US, fighting Ruiz a unknown to casual boxing fans, out of shape (to a casual boxing fan), gets KOd gives up. All his belts gone. AJ lost a shit load in that 1 night.

Lets give credit where credit is due. Ruiz did not win by knockout nor by TKO. He won in the most satisfying way a boxer can win a fight. He won by surrender. He beat the fight out of Joshua. He stole his will to continue. He beat him to his wits end. Anyone can be knocked out and the best can lose by a decision but when you beat someone to such a degree that they realize that all hope is lost, that my friend is the nature of true victory and demoralizing defeat. I don't a agree. You have to give Josshua credit for getting back up as many times as he did. His will was not taken away. Ruiz is good but Joshua was better. Joshua never recovered from that punch behind the ear. His equilibrium was completely gone after that punch. He thought he would shake it off eventually but, when he realized he couldn't he said no. The guy that he beat for the championship punched Joshua and he looked like he was out. He got up and went on to win that fight. Why should he continue fighting when he's been dizzy and wobbly for 2 straight rounds. He will beat Ruiz the next time. He was winning until until that blow behind the ear. Anyone who gets hit there is going down and most won't get back up.

Shang Tsung there’s nothing impressive about power at all, and you can definitely get 40 wins when you’re fighting nothing but bums and you have a rocket as an arm. This might be a cheesy comparison, but think about super man and Batman for a second... Superman has godlike strength and Batman is a Normal human. Batman is also a highly skilled fighter who’s mastered many fighting techniques. Superman not so much. So who wins the fight? Superman obviously. Not because he’s a better fighter or even a good one, but because he physically overpowers Batman. Again, I know it might a cheesy comparison, but it more applies to this situation. Wilder being Superman and furry being Batman. Furry schooled wilder for 12 rounds. But almost lost because wilder finally landed those bombs. Which took him 9 rounds to land the first knockdown. Furry is a superior fighter in every way. But wilders insane power makes a bit of wildcard. That fight definitely wasn’t a draw. Furry won all the way. Power doesn’t equate to skill. Wilder got lucky by having all that power. He wouldn’t be in the boxing world without that arm. No skill whatsoever. Not impressed.
