My wife got COVID in November of 2020. She isolated in the bedroom. I slept on the couch. After one day of that we both said, “Fuck this!” and went back to sleeping together. She recovered in 2 days. I never got sick.

I was unable to see my parents face to face for almost three years and it felt like agony. So much time lost that I'll never be able to get back with them because I was stuck in a country with even more draconian Wu Flu policies that the States. Howard can piss off with his hypochondriac insanity. Let people get on with their lives and see their loved ones. The Rona as far as plagues go was barely a blip compared to the stuff from the past.

Tony and Gav clearly never learned to snap a cap properly.

Imagine forgetting that we once had some things called the flu and the common cold. This reality seems to be broken.

They're not even being funny about it. It's just seething.

So who's watching Stern now? Must be a brilliant bunch.

I stopped listening to Howard in November 2020. The first hour to hour and a half of every episode was Trump-Covid-Covid-Trump...but Eddie Van Halen died so they spent the first hour and a half talking about Eddie. I was hoping that it broke the chain of nonsense. The rest of the show was Trump-Covid. That was it. He is what he used to hate.

Oh god, Ronnie’s the star of the show now? He always just annoyed the crap out of me. He’s only ever funny as a comedic punching bag when the crew busts his balls for being so cringe. I was listening to a clip of one of the times they were making fun of some hosting gig he did. I think it was Robin who put it best. Basically, he desperately wants to be the life of the party, but is terrible off the cuff, prepares nothing, and has nothing interesting to say or do, so he just yells a lot.

I’ve long heard rumor that once Stern retires, they’ve got some deal worked out where it’s going to basically be an a la carte on demand thing where you can listen to any episode in the archive that you want, and that it’s another way to keep the staff employed for another decade or so. The day that happens, I’ll subscribe to Sirius. I just want to be able to listen to prime Stern at my leisure. I’ve torrented a ton of archived episodes from the late-Krock/early Sirius years, but there’s gaps in there.

There was plenty of world renowned virologists from places like Harvard and Columbia that said from the beginning lockdowns were pointless and that old people were the ones who needed protection. They were banned from social media, called conspiracy theorists and silenced. And they were right from the very first day.

The increased chance of a young person dying was miniscule and people, even young ones, have always died from respiratory illnesses. There are over a hundred germs, microbes, bacteria or virus that can cause a respiratory illness and more are discovered every year. They have always been around and always will be, evolving, mutating and making us sick. Do we stop living because one gets a little more active? Everybody in my family has had Covid and never experienced any symptoms worse than a mild flu and everybody I know has reported the same. Even members of my family that are elderly and in their 80's came out just fine. It's not the death sentence they claimed, all the hysteria was designed to make money for the pharma industrial complex. Older people should take precautions but they should always be a little more careful, even with regular flu or colds because they are more likely to die from them but even then, do you want to stop living life because of a small increase in the chance of death? Every time you step on the street you can die in a variety of ways. Do you not drive an electric car because it has a higher chance of blowing up and killing the occupants? Do you stop eating certain foods because some have a higher chance of giving you cancer? Do you not let your kids ride a bike because every once in a while a kid gets hurt or even killed on one? After all, if you just kept them inside in front of the TV or video game console, they'd have no chance of dying from a bike accident. We make those choices to live every day, despite a remote chance of dying, and Covid is no different.
