He always had love in him. And she embraced everything that was hidden deep down within his heart, that was supressed for such a long time. She made him feel alive again, embracing the best part of him and he doing the same to her.

Jonathon Bailey's acting was so brilliant and nuanced. He deserves awards recognition .

Yes! I remember back when the show was on the Channel 4 network in Britain. So happy Netflix released it it’s really a hidden gem. I remember watching it all those years ago in real time when new episodes were coming out, it introduced me to this astronomically talented man! I always knew he would be a big actor one day 🩵🥹

The scene is so beautiful and important because it’s the first time after his fathers death that he has cried or shown any emotions this shows that kate’s love really changed him as a person and he is sooo much of a better than he was in season 1. love the 2nd so so so muchhh💕💕💕

And it's also important that the scene is just he and his mother. It comes back around to the time when he could not quite understand the type of love that his mother was grieving when her husband died.

@@user-su6zt2of2p yes but by saying kate changed him as a person i meant that she made him feel more open to his and to other’s emotions and feelings. because in season 1 he doesn’t really acknowledge daphne’s love for simon as according to him love doesn’t really exist and he thought that daphne was just naive,but kate made him realise how wrong he was and that he shouldn’t have doubted dapne or his closest friend,the duke

@@witcherye It's so confusing whenever a guy says this because literally, all you ever see is women talking about how much they want to see men be vulnerable and how ots okay for them to be... But they continue to say women don't want to see men be vulnerable. I guess they automatically assume that we're lying to mess with them or he's just projecting because he doesn't want to still seem weak because women want him to be vulnerable. They still means being weak in his eyes, and he doesnt want to be weak. Men also do things that please each other instead of women, so they most likely don't want to be vulnerable because guys don't like being vulnerable because of other guys

Being around Kate emotionally unclogged this man so much, he’s literally screamed, cried and begged for her

I love this scene so much. It’s as if Anthony is not only crying out of relief but he’s finally given in- he will marry for love because he’s only just realised how consuming it is. There was no way he’d be able to live without Kate and now he knows there’s no choice but to surrender to his feelings.

Literally one of the BEST love confessions I’ve ever seen on television and his love interest wasn’t even there. Good lord, this man put in the WORK. He BECAME Anthony. God… I wish I was Kate 🥲

This scene still makes me cry. Since we first saw Anthony in season one he’s always been abrupt with his mother, a bit cold, a bit “too exacting” as she says… and there is a whole video I could make on their relationship and the deep hurt and psychology behind it. But here he openly weeps in front of her, listens to what she is telling him, understands that she is apologizing to him, and that she truly does love him and wants him to be happy. In episode 7 he says that his family despises him, including his mother, but it’s not true at all. The pan down to her holding his hand shows how much they needed this reconciliation. Season 2 didn’t just prepare Anthony for a happy marriage, it also mended the relationship with his mother which had needed honest nurturing for a decade. I’m crying just writing this comment 🫠

This is an absolutely on target comment. You can feel the strain in their relationship throughout the story. Here in this scene the mother is apologizing for the unbearable pressure and expectations that were placed on him following the death of his father, which made him push back from ever wanting a marriage based on love.. He was still processing the grief of his father and her actions contributed to his PTSD.

This was such a beautiful scene… it truly showed is love for her and how deep down he was terrified of losing Kate… loved this scene.

From the orginal scene without the color editing and the abrupt ending, you can notice how his fingers went white with how hard he was pressing his forehead in relief. It shows how intense and deep his feelings were for Kate. Jonathan Bailey did a spectacular job 👏

One of the most realistic and beutiful scenes of duel and love. The majority of people just hide their emotions until they become unavoidable like happens to Anthony ❤

Thing is right, that cry he does even though it's for her, it is also very much pent up emotions plus the responsibilities of an elder/older sibling all gelled into one.

Love this scene! The way he had been holding back and finally let himself feel how worried he has. We’ve all been there and it’s so well done.

The night before we found out he was most definitely a boy God gave my husband a dream of him standing in a large field, a little boy far out, and he called for Declan. You have a son. And we did. God is so good. How amazing to give you such a sweet dream then bring it to fruition with your sweet son growing within you now. Congrats!!

He had to hold it together to support his mom and siblings. That’s why this scene is full circle and a total relief moment for Anthony. His He is finally releasing all his emotions he’s been holding in - the relationship with Kate in forefront and the relationship with his mom post loosing his dad in the background. He and his mom never got to weep together over the loss of the father and now they get to do so as Anthony weeps in the relief that his love is not dead. The son and mother relationship mended and as they finally share how powerful grief and love truly is.

Honestly, I quite enjoyed the second season far MORE than season one. The love story was much better too
