I met him about 12 years ago downtown Chicago on Broadway in front of the Green Mill ... he was on the phone pacing up and down the street and I waited a few minutes and he got off the phone and I yelled out “Hey Anthony my sister loves you” and he looked at me and went 🤷🏻‍♂️ and then walked over and introduced himself to me and my buddy. He was super nice and real and he was in Chicago to film an episode of his show. It was great to meet him - hope you’re at peace Anthony - I know you are 🙏🏻

Why just take their word for it, no the examination should've been here in the states, his family should've had to right to do that, he always talked about how he had the best job in the world and he would've never wanted to just leave his daughter, I think that a full investigation should've been done!! It's not beating up on AB to use this sad choice as motivation to check in on ourselves and others. Suicide is not a desirable outcome, but of course it's not something to blame someone for. I'm very grateful for his life and what he had to say about the world. But given the circumstances, I wish he had taken more time and care for himself-- as we all should.

Actually when something like this first happens you are in shock. Trust me she probably has a million wonderful things to say about her son. It will take her a long while to process this. Stop judging others and how they react in times of grief. Unless you have walked in the same shoes you don’t know how it feels to lose someone to suicide.

The phrase sounds as if it comes out from the mouth of a media machine picking up juicy morsels surrounding a celebrity's suicide, rather than the reflection of the death of a fellow human being, and being empathetic towards the grief of his mom. That was why I felt appalled at her choice of words.

Intellegent talented uncompromising. Anthony was a friend to each and every one of us. Each episode he recorded of parts unknown allowed us the adventure few of us would ever taste, hear or see. perhaps he decided that life had given him all there was to offer and it was time to go home. Anthony lived for us and delivered it with style and Witt. He walked streets with a tall, lean, slow kind of stride all over the world searching for us the best of times. Thanks Anthony for the good times and being our friend.

I don't understand all this concern with keeping people alive when nobody cares about their quality of life. Those who are left behind and express sadness are often the very same people who never raised a finger including governments. People are sleeping rough on the streets, forced to eat rats, denied healthcare and yet everyone wants to prolong their suffering and even God forbid get them to procreate yet another miserable life because the system needs slaves. Bravo those who have the courage to end it all.

How can you say " Bravo", to a lonley suicide. My nephew took his life at 22 years old after a broken heart. He was loved, had just had a young child and was about to graduate to his profession. I live in a different state, yet I wired him funds to pay his rent for a year after the new baby....He was loved by his Mom, Dad , sibling, Aunts, Cousins and STILL ended it. Your comment about bravery, he was frightened and must have felt hopless ....I still cry for the beautiful soul he was and would have been...for his child who will NEVER know a hug from him.

Gosh, one of the greatest humans to walk this earth. My Dad and I watched his show on CNN all the time, the highlight of my dad's sickly last few years. Tony Bourdain was loved by my Father so much, he even started speaking in the same mannerisms. When Dad was in his hospital and as I was leaving for the evening, dad said to me, don't for6to watch Bourdain as he called him, I said dad, my TV channel is set. Tony why, I mean I can relate to everything you've gone through since I'm going thru the same now, but I'm trying to find d my way. How much I loved hearing you speak about food, comforted me to no end, I felt peaceful at bedtime thinking wow, I was just mesmerized by a king, as you always will be

Aspartame in our soft drinks and energy drinks are driving people insane every day. This was a very serious issue for me. I progressively lost control and didn't have a clue . I could've harmed myself or someone. Luckily I found out just in time before it unknowly took over completely. If you can spread this, It can help our youth be more stable mentally with peers in our schools. ☺✌

Shows you how well people hide their pain. Thing is, we all do it. Don't take yourself too seriously people, it's all temporary & life is full of up's & downs. You've got to muck through the s*** just like we all do. If it's chronic depression messing up the chemistry in your brain then see a doctor. Endure & make jokes about your predicament. Life is ever changing. Just hold on & wait it out. If it never changes then use your unhappy life to help others, at least make it worth it. That's what I do & all I know.

It doesn't just go away by seeing a doctor. So many people live in complete denial and ignorance of metal illness. Yeah, life is hard for everyone, but it's not about that, they're MENTALLY ILL. I.e. Not thinking or functioning like a neurotypical person would. A mentally ill person can be suicidal even if their life is just fine. It's not about hardships, they're SICK
