Antarctic Peninsula 2019 - Kayaking with Whales
This Video is about our part of the trip to the Antarctic Peninsula. One day, in the morning and in the afternoon we got the opportunity to kayak with whales. It was the most amazing experience we have ever had. The whales
knew we were there, they were "playing" with us.

Excellent kayaking video thanks for sharing beautiful video and excellent photography congratulations 🙏
You can tell that these people didn’t take one second with them for granted. I appreciate that.
This is one of the most amazing encounters I've seen. Those whales knew you were there and they were being so gentle with you. You might have been in danger if they were unaware of you. I loved it when the tail flukes went either side of the cameraman's bow as he dived under him from foreward. Magical moment.

They would never be unaware of kayakers, or other foreign bodies in/on the water. They have proprioreceptors in the skin that vibrate or resonate when there's anything within a mile. They knew the kayakers were there long before the kayakers did! This is one very special encounter! I've had many like this but never caught it on video! Lucky them!!
My wife and I absolutely love this video. The joy we both can hear from the excitement from you and your wife’s voice gave us so much happiness. You both had one of the best and most beautiful experiences with kayaking with Humpback Whales. We are planning to take a Expedition trip to Antarctica within the next few years years. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful footage. It’s a blessing.

Thank you for the kind comments. Here is a bit on this trip we took to the Antarctic Peninsula. The company; Aurora Expeditions, (auroraexpeditions.com.au) We have had a few trips with them, all have been great. 21 days in Jan/Feb. 2019 Included: Falkland Islands, South Georgia, Antarctic Peninsula (videos from those places are on my KZread channel, that says it all) We were going off the boat kayaking twice a day for tree hrs each time, weather permitted (at S. Georgia & Antarctic P.). For kayaking we were wearing dry suits, you could float on water in them. (We did try it and it worked !) We are very lucky & privileged having so many choices to follow our dreams.

@@RIC45AU Thank you so much for taking the time to respond and thank you for giving us information to help us with planning our expedition to Antarctica. It’s truly a beautiful blessing.
Simply beautiful and so amazing. This is my dream, to be up close to whales, and dolphins, but not in Antarctica....I hate cold weather. Thank you, so much, for sharing this with the world.
So graceful. I didn’t realise whales made a sort of growly sound. Imagine being on a sailing ship at night and hearing that sound. Your imagination would run wild. Thanks for posting this 👍
I can't thank you enough for sharing this extraordinary footage with us. What an amazing breathtaking experience!
That was just beautiful and amazing! Thank you for sharing that experience with us!

All through these past months of the COVID-19 pandemic, two things that have been great for my mental health are watching whale videos like this one & listening to opera. Thank you for sharing what must have been an unforgettable experience. One of the best videos I’ve seen. Makes me want to do this someday, too. ✨❤️✨

Many people have hard time due to COVID-19. Stay strong and keep dreaming. Soon you'll have a lot of great days again.
This year, with the absence of 1.4 million tourists in Alaska, scientists are saying the whale population is having a much better time.
To je nádhera to se nevidí každý den super video 👍👍👍🌊💚💚💚😀

If you like this you should put on your bucket list...rafting on Opala River in Kamchatka to be with brown bears catching the salmon.
"these are humans... they will coo at you for a little closer look... be careful first..."
In all the excitement, when a whale comes up for a peek at them, I wonder if they consider that they are not only encountering an alien being, one that has taken a very different evolutionary path, but also that, given their brain and complex behavior, this is very much a two way street. They are being considered as well.

Great video. More, please......
What an experience. Very fortunate.
I wish there was a way to do the equivalant of feeding them/ showing nurturing actions towards them patting them etc. but i get the feeling they like us anyway
Absolutely breathtaking! Thank you so much for sharing with us =)
take a shot everytime she says "oh you beautiful darling"
Just so close u can reach out and touch them! What a thrill!
Wow. How lucky they are
Il filmato era bellissimo, complimenti a tutti i collaboratori, grazie
Wow great video ive never seen a humpback ballet before..
Amazing video!!!! Great experience!!
What always amazes me is that when their tailes re-enter the water, they leave hardly a ripple (see @1.56). That is some design by Mother Nature ;-)
They know you are around, they are not afraid of you, and they won't hurt you. ... these creatures bother me a little, I have to be careful keeping away and not hurting then.
So majestic...
oh Thank you for sharing this video~!
Just beautiful!!
Wow! Amazing!
U guys r so lucky dear, wish I were there !!
Just wondering if they're supposed to keep a certain distance away?? It just seems they are a bit close....
Other than the doo doo doo dooing, awesome video.

Whales are breath taking beautiful. But I don't know if I could go up to them in a small boat, in fear they would flip me over
Stunning to watch.

Coolest thing ever
If i had 1 M likes i would have given....!!!!
even if it seems harmless, they should not approach, and leave them alone, they are peaceful animals but it disturbs them all the same

Hello to you and wife. My wife and I would love to communicate via email with you. We are wanting to go to Antarctica and we absolutely love the videos that you posted from your trip. We rewatched them so many times. Thank you for sharing them.

Antarctic Peninsula, close to Enterprise Island. The company: auroraexpeditions.com.au All the best.
100 yards?
