ANTs trying to guard Kyrie AND run the entire team and be their biggest scoring threat all while Kyrie is over in the corner chilling, covering NAW or Conley on defense. Wolves WENT AT Murray and tired him out so that he was less affective on the offensive end. Hopefully they adjust and make Kyrie a defender. Pick on Kyrie like they did Murray. He had way too much energy running up and down the court tonight.

Actually the Wolves were favored i. The WCF series bc the Mavs. Everyone pretty much picked them to win the series and Vegas had them winning it before game 1, so I would say it was a let down that they lost the series, especially the way they lost. Down 3-0 and losing 4-1 in a gentlemen sweep.

Luka and kyrie were shutdown almost every game during the thunder series leaving Kyrie with two games under 10 points with him only have 4 of those in his entire NBA career and Lukas poor shooting performance in first two games and missing a game tieing free throw in the 4th quarter. Interested to why you think they both show up consistently every night, and thats not being sarcastic(talking playoffs specifically)

McDaniels isn't strong enough to deal eith Luka, Kyrie is the most shifty player Ant has dealt with. Minnesota's defense is tailor made to stop the Nuggets (a lot of size and strength inside, to slow down Jokic, great perimeter defenders to stop Murray) but Kyrie and Luka are on a completely different level from Murray and provide very different challenges to perimeter defenders than Murray. Dort had the strength to bother Luka, preventing him from getting to his spots. Okc doubled Ky any chance the got, and Luka more often then not. That's why they gave up so many wide open corner threes. The playoffs are all about matchups and whilst Minnesota is one of the best teams in the league, Dallas is a more difficult matchup for them than the Nuggets.

I like Ant but they didn’t come out flat.. at least not offensively. Maybe Ant himself did but the wolves got up like 19-8 and hit like five of their first six 3’s. McDaniels had 11 points in like 3 minutes lmao. Shaping up to be an amazing series tho, that game 1 was awesome

Dallas is a bad matchup. Towns and Rudy are slow. You will see Lively Gafford and Jones running to the rim the rest of the series. This is where Kidd wishes he was on the court hahaha

When lively comes in Dallas defensive rating improves drastically because guys legit are too scared to shoot inside over him whereas people attack Gafford. I may sound crazy but Lively legit might be better than Gobert. I’ve made the comparison months ago and said lively is going to develop into a more athletic Gobert, but I’m starting to think he’s the better player already for a multitude of reasons. That’s not a knock on Gobert, Lively is unreal. He dominated that OKC series and had himself a great game 1 of the WCF

All of those saying Kyrie Cooked Anthony Edward’s clearly didn’t pay attention to the game. He scored 20 points in the first half while Ant Man sat majority of the second quarter. Second half Kyrie got 6 points from the free throw line in which Edward’s didn’t foul him.

@@louiev1833 I agree and I am not making excuses for him, I’m just talking about factors that others don’t mention because of their lack of basketball knowledge (coming from a former D2 player). And Ant man also takes responsibility for when he plays good or bad. Even on an off night, he impacted the game in many other ways such as rebounding, assists and moving without the ball. He’s a young guy who wants to win. Rooting for him all the way.

Crazy because McDaniel was the only one on Minnesota who had over 20 points Luka and kyrie had 30 and the mavericks still barely won I got Minnesota in 5

Game 1 is always the game where both teams are trying to figure out their play style. So i know wolves will find a way.

When i lived in chicago, it was during Jordan's reign. Phil jackson would always put pippen on the best player. This was to not exert Mike's energy. The wolves may have to put jaden mcdaniels on kyrie and try antman on luka.

I knew it was a reason he kept settling for jump shots. I kept saying, "Drive to the basket the whole game." Nobody on the Mavericks can guard Ant on one. I believe they'll play better next game

Ants decision making was unbearable to watch, he misses shots and Kyrie was already by the basket for a great finish😭 Once Ant comes mentally prepared and learns from his mistakes then it's over but rn Kyrie had to remind him that school was still in session
