Ant-Man 3: Please STOP Making 2 Hour Movies

Alright, so we are at a point where no Marvel films unless they're an origin story will ever feel complete if they're not over 2 hours long!
And now the latest victim of such short length movies is Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania!
Don't get me wrong this movie in and of itself isn't that bad but boy they could have done so much better!
So in this video, I, who used to be a writer myself, will tell you each point that could have been written so much better.
Now, Jeff Loveness is the writer of this film and to be really honest, I love him and his work.
He's an incredible person and really loves the MCU and all of its characters and he'll be the one writing Avengers: Kang Dynasty.
But sometimes even the people that love us make mistakes.
So here I am with my open letter to Jeff Loveness, hoping he sees this video one day and know that the criticism that I'm about to put forth, is all out of my love for the MCU and quality content.

(My biggest issue is still how MODOK was put into it, he should have been a chaotic character that never shows emotions, and does everything to get what he needs) EDIT: But dont get me wrong i enjoyed the movie it just wasnt as great as the previous ones (phase 4, and before), but it did not deserve that 50% rating at all (it should've been more).

The way she was hiding it felt like she accidentally somehow created the door to multiversal(not sure of the spelling) chaos. Or she killed people for kang. I really agree with Lad on the point of Downgrading their own legacy. I mean, Cassie literally made that Quantum Satellite in the basement ( with some help of Hank Pym , ofcourse ) and Our boy Tony made those suits in his 50s. Literally, every new character after Phase 3 , i.e., in phase 4 are just too genius to make things on their own. Our shuri didn't even made the Heart shaped herb on her own but here Cassie literally outsmarts Tony, Banner, Shuri ??? Wtf. For a second, i can believe Riri can made her own suit coz she got Blueprints and stuffs. But.... Huh, Marvel is just too eager to show the end result instead of showing us the Story.

As Lad said that they could have spent time together when Scott was trapped, but we forget that Hank was also a part of the blip and could have only spent his time his Cassie when Hulk snapped everybody back. It would have made sense to show that she isn't the same little girl from before Endgame, but especially since we can't make the excuse that she built the bond during those five years when Hank was among those snapped, that's not possible. And yes, there needed to be more of a consequence than Darren finding her ping when she was just mapping out the Quantum Realm. I also do agree that having more runtime just means a larger bond. It's Marvel; we're going to watch the whole thing, no matter how long. Not only Endgame, but even the Snyder Cut proved we're gonna.

Especially the smirk when she said “a guy dressed like a bee tried to kill me in my room when I was 6” like that’s not funny, that’s years’ worth of trauma, and maybe there could’ve even been some resentment on Cassie’s part for Scott putting her in danger, which could’ve led to an arc in this film where she sees for herself how hard the life of a superhero really is and how much her dad really does want to protect her when he stands up to Kang.

Definitely agree with every criticism. Plus the movie is introducing Kang and it doesn't bother to explain his different technologies and powers and their limitations. 1. In the final fight, Scott just has to use his brute strength (when he was giant man) to defeat Kang along with some help which was also just dumb strength. And there was no apparent logical explanation, why brute strength beats Kang's technologies. 2. Why doesn't Kang use telekinetic power in the final fight and the events leading to the final fight. there was no explanation. 3. Why did Scott got just pushed by Kang's beam while there are too many people got disintegrated (just before some scene). Because when the people got disintegrated I was curious how Scott was going to overcome the situation but nothing sort of any explanation was given. 4. May be it would have been bit easier for the audiences to take these things granted (which is still a bad thing, but still) if there was some exposition or some scene explaining the technologies. 5. why do the audience bother if it's quantum realm or any other place. Because no physics or new set of rules are not really shown or explained. 6. If the powers of Kang are properly explained and with those power he still got defeated, and you know there superior versions of Kang, we will be worried about the avengers in the upcoming movies. But instead this Kang feels irrelevant and the writers must explain the Kang in way more detail in upcoming movie. 7. Writers should have taken infinity war approach. Should have taken time in the start of movie and some how give an exposition regarding Kang or Kangs and whats their deal and many more things, but may be it gets covered in loki season 2. but regardless the writer ruined the movie.

  • @ted544

The power scaling with Kang was all over the place. He has time powers, telekinesis and powerful energy attacks but they were only as powerful as the plot needed them to be at that moment. Also he boasts of having killed multiple timelines of Avengers but is unable to kill Cassie, Antman and Wasp despite having no reason to hold back.
