Thank you for the scene with his ex-wife. While I disagree with some other people who say it's silly that Scott was sent to prison at all (the problem wasn't the whistleblowing, it's the hacking which is still illegal even under those circumstances) the fact that Scott after getting out of prison wasn't immediately offered dozens of high-paying jobs from other companies who want to look good for hiring him and that he had to struggle with child support and seeing his daughter again completely broke my suspension of disbelief. Hell, he should have gotten so many interviews and media attention while in prison (as well as probably a gofundme started by the people he helped) that he should have already been well-off before he even got out.

@@MrGksarathy When they're whistleblowing the government sure that's true but that's just because the people who are supposed to protect them are the ones they're whistleblowing so that only makes sense. But when they're whistleblowing companies? No, I'm sorry but they do have it good. In the US, Karen Silkwood, Mark Whitacre, Keith A. Schooley and Erin Brockovich are probably the most famous US whistleblower against companies and they've all had books and movies made after them. It's not just that Scott should be fine, given the circumstances he should be getting a deal from Hollywood, his story would probably sell even better than Erin Brockovich did!

My suspicion is that Antman's script was the victim of a series of serious revisions. I bet that the original idea was to make him a reformed criminal who really deserved to be in the situation that he was at the start of the film and that the first movie was going to be partly about him redeeming himself. The movie would have made a lot more sense that way

@@jollygoodfellow3957 I feel like Marvel got worse with having heroes with actual morally ambiguous pasts after Phase 1. Tony Stark had a background as an arms dealer, we actually saw the consequences of his company's actions and his first movie was about him trying to atone for it. Black Widow had a largely vague but sordid past as a spy, but not much about her actual crimes are brought up after the first Avengers movie. The only one that got much follow-up was Dreykov's daughter, and she turned out to still be alive in her prequel movie. Also, the movie said most other Black Widows were mind-controlled all along, sidestepping any need to deal with that Bucky spent decades as an assassin for HYDRA, but all of that was done while he was being mind-controlled, so nothing he did in this time was his fault Loki's series does at least acknowledge his past crimes, but Marvel has been easing him into a redemption story for years and I don't think the series even acknowledged that he killed Coulson (speaking of Coulson, I just realized that Agents of SHIELD might as well never have happened and the MCU at large would still be exactly the same).

@@alphagamer9505 So are you just intentionally ignoring the fact that Darren being violent was mostly because his mind was messed up by the YellowJacket particles? Both Hank and Hope knows this, Hank especially since he neglected to tell Darren the dangers of messing with Pym Particles without proper equipment. Pretty sure Darren was never 'evil' when he started out as Hank's protege. Heck, everything he did up to the YellowJacket suit was to make Hank proud. But no...lets just ignore the fine details and reduce Darren to being nothing more than an 'evil' dude. /s Also, your argument is inapplicable in real life. Officially, Darren is just a weapon seller. If Hope were to suddenly kill him under the impression that its for 'world peace', then what exactly makes Darren any more evil than any other weapon sellers like Stark and Hammer Industries, etc? Even the Govt buys weapons. Hope killing Darren in this case is not for the greater good. Its just for her and Hank's own benefits. Making her no better than your so called 'bad guys'. Maybe I should also remind you that Darren legally owns the YellowJacket suit and Cross Technologies. They are his property. Our 'heroes' are the ones that are breaking the law by trying to steal the YellowJacket suit and literally destroying Cross Technologies HQ. THEY ALREADY ARE CRIMINALS.

It kills someone and completely destroyed the body. As if nothing happened. Like he just disappeared. Obviously the most difficult part of any murder is hiding the body.

Yes you definitely won't need to worry about Darren Cross ever again, nope, they definitely won't appear in the most obvious reveal ever, so obvious that the movie tells you almost straight away after their appearance.

I can only suggest that if years of investment, research and development disappeared overnight, it might be too catastrophic a setback to resume the project, and it might be derailed. I also vaguely remember there being some key thing that Cross based on his research on that would make starting over virtually impossible, but I probably just got distracted by all the pretty colours and quick cuts.
