Morning routine, evening routine, house updates, teacher meal prep, what I eat in a week, plan with me, how you analyze student data, how you determine interventions, how you track data for MTSS…. All the teacher things!!!!

I would love see some videos that are plan with me for math or more math tips. I would also love to hear your dos and don’ts of classroom management and the differences in your classroom management between different grades or 1st year to now. I’m going to be student teaching in the spring so I love any advice videos!!

As a first year teacher who had a really challenging internship last Spring- my biggest advice is to be willing to collaborate and co-teach. My cooperating teacher would only allow me to teach two days a week and rarely allowed me to help on “her” days- which meant I sat at a desk and watched her teach A LOT. Your student teacher will be an asset- use him/her and their skill set to the betterment of your students. For example, you might allow him/her to pull additional small groups to support or extend certain students, take turns teaching different lessons throughout the day, allow him/her to take over different roles in an appropriate time frame (based on experience and engagement), etc. I know you will be a blessing to your student teacher and wish you both a wonderful semester! 🎉❤

Merry Christmas Katie !!! Enjoy your break !! And if you end up sleeping a little extra it is because your body is probably telling you that it needs more sleep. You work hard all year now your body needs that take it easy time. - Dwight

Merry Christmas ❤ I have had several interns over the years. Some advice: make them a space to work, get to know their strengths and favorite subjects to teach, discuss your classroom management in depth and have them use your system. Also make a debrief day. They ask lots of questions and want feedback. It can get time consuming. Be positive!

We do the House System too! I'm Blue House - Compassio (Compassion). It's a lot of fun having different groups of students and staff. We do a lot with House Colors. Have a terrific holiday break! I've had student teachers....some good and some not. I'm excited for you! The hardest part for me was giving up control when they teach the class but it's fun and rewarding. I like day in the life of a teacher videos and would love a video about having an intern, after you experience it.

I liked when I watched you share videos from first grade some strategies you taught really quickly. Most especially if it included a manipulative or whatever even for phonics. But like you said, it’s hard to share all of that after classes but when we do get those clips, I love those!
