Answering Your Best Home Birth Questions

If you're considering home birth or have friends that have had home births, you should have a LOT of questions! What about postpartum hemorrhage? Is it messy? What if there is an emergency? What if my baby needs medical attention? How far is too far from the hospital?
These are all great questions that I answer in this video. There is lots of research and evidence to support the idea of having your baby at home if that is something you've always dreamed about doing!
Studies mentioned in the video:
Decreased risk of postpartum hemorrhage with home birth- www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...

This was so thorough! It was especially helpful learning about the emergency transport stats. That was always heavy on my mind in the case where I would need to be moved to a hospital setting for those rare emergencies. I'm so jealous of how cute you still look while GIVING BIRTH!

It's definitely a legit concern to worry about emergencies, but when you really dive into the statistics (thankfully more and more studies are being done all the time) it's not near as "dangerous" as people think and midwives have morte training and equipment than most people realize. There are actually complications that are MORE likely to happen if you give birth at the hospital, which is surprising to a lot of people! I don't know about being cute while giving birth, but I'll take the compliment and won't argue with it haha
