After wasting a cringe-worthy amount of time, money, and materials on FO testing, I found a few things helped: 1. Getting recommendations from the supplier. Candle Science lists FOs that pair well with each other in the description of each of their scents. Even if I don't go with their options, they at least give me ideas. 2. Googling. For example, "What scents pair well with lavender?" 3. Using a medicine cup and coffee stir stick to blend and sniff 2 fragrances gradually adding more of one fragrance or the other until it smells right. 4. Testing with clamshells (intially) instead of candles to save wax. I use a presto pot of wax, a small Pyrex measuring cup, a scale, and a metal teaspoon. I use a laddle to pour only the amount of wax I need for one clamshell into the Pyrex, add the FO mix, stir, pour, wipe out the Pyrex with a paper towel, and repeat for every new combo. The struggle is real😓 I hope this helps🙏🏼

I don't know, your channel is the-MOST-make-sanse-videos then another content creator who share about 'candles things', and I learnt a lot of making candle from your videos, then my friends said 'your scent is uniqe' that actually I learnt from you. I get anxiety when i blend. Always afraid it'll end up smelling awful and thats just wasted fo. But i have come up with a few blends that i really like. If you're a fan of pink sugar (i prefer lonestar)...try blending it with CS Sprakling Grapefruit. Mmm.. or i really liked CS sea salt & orchid blended with TFC pineapple. Amazing! You should do a video on peoples favorite blends. I think it would be interesting to see what goes well together and how creative makers can be..

All the fragrances in my line are custom blends besides 1. I always get compliments on how unique my scents are. Blending is definitely my favorite part. ☺️

Can I ask what formula u use to blend two or more fragrances??

im using coco apricot so the wax can hold up to 10 %. I’m using memory box candle co formulas. So my 9oz jar really holds 7oz. So 7oz =198 grams. So with your formula. I have to take 198 divide it by 110%= 180. So now I need 180 grams of wax. In order to find the 10% FO. I have to minus the 198-180=18. N I will need 18 grams of FO which will be the 10%. So that is where I got the 18 from. When I use the formular for blending two or more FO the candle sweat. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I follow the required melting and pouring temperature for coco apricot and soy C10.

I dip with a q tip put a piece of paper towel in a small zip lock bag and leave for a couple of hours. It gives the oils a chance to mingle and I don't waste anything on a candle I have no clue what to do with later on. I've made most of my blends this way by testing first. Of course it doesn't smell exactly the same mixed with wax but it does give you the sense if they're going to blend well. My worst attempt at a blend was trying to soften Driftwood. I added vanilla to the test and it smelled like a grandma who had been a smoker. Epic fail. But again. Didn't waste any supplies! 🤣

I have blended so many great ones. Do you need to be mindful of the different flashpoints when blending?

If you use a scent that is already blended, then mix it with 2 or 3 other scents, do I have to add every single scent on my label including the blended one? I really enjoy your videos and learned so much from you. Thank you and keep it up!
