Answering ALL your questions|| Q&A
Hi everyone, thank you for being here! 🌷
I did a Q&A for some of the questions you may have about the content I put out regarding living abroad, JET, or anything in general. I had tons of fun answering your questions, and I tried to be honest.

4:47, Totally safe to suggest prospective JET's save UP money from their home countries for a healthy period of time- Money in Japan may not be worth a lot, but converting it to offset the inflation is a G move worth advising. 1000%.

Can I ask, what are you gonna do after coming back from Japan,....as in are you gonna get a job related to your degree or something similar? ❤
6:32, If you've got the willpower (and this is more a question to you Precious than an informed suggestion), could you save on all your vacation days till the end of your contract and let's say, legally use those vacation days to transfer out of the job before the contract end date. I would personally use my vacation days as buffer time to secure other employment within the country. What do you think about that?
@Precimolobye

Yes, legally you can do that with your vacation days.

14:15, I tell myself "This won't be me. This won't be me. I know what I'm in for, I know what I'm expecting." and watch me still feel that overwhelming sense of disconnection and loneliness at times. I think there's really no way around it

Everyone feels it. It doesn’t mean that you’re doing something wrong or that you’re in the wrong or whatever…. It’s just the way it is, we come from a low context culture and we go into a high context culture. It’s kind of inevitable really, but having friends here and learning the language helps a ton!
JET is essentially just to service the country, but it's an amazing entry point into other employment towards the end of your contract (given that you want to stay and are willing to do the work /grow the network that will help you find a foreigner friendly apartment or job to stay and apply for). I'm looking from the outside in, never been a JET but this is the angle I will be attempting to pursue this from.

And that seems like a level headed strategy for the future! Goodluck ✨✨
15:47 What seems to be the biggest issue with JET in Japan is the witness of impact, there really is none unless you push outside of yourself (and often against the system) to make a significant impact on the students' lives. There are clear limitations on your ability to assist students 1 on 1, and although some schools have made technological advances to improve the educational curriculum in Japan, this has yet to become a standard in schools where JETs are placed (more often than not out, in rural areas with dated learning methods). I've gotten to speak with a current ALT about this, because I am hoping I can create more participation driven digital material when I become an ALT after college. At some point, you either feel underutilized and restricted as a teacher (ALT or Primary), or that low salary and nonexistent career growth catches up with you.

You sum it up perfectly! And that’s why one has to move on from JET as quickly as possible 😊
I love your content ✨ do you have struggles finding black hair products and do you have to import from online or is there some stores that sell things like hairpiece, hair food etc??
@Precimolobye

Thank you for watching! 🌻 yes!! I do struggle to find hair products, people that can do it and just normal maintenance. But there are some hairstylists (usually in Tokyo)
I know you loooove ramen! Didn’t really enjoy it when I lived in South Korea thought maybe ramen from Japan should be the ONE

Hey Precious.i need your advise. Im deciding which TEFL course to do. Does it make a difference how many hours i choose? What's the advantages between a 150hours and 120hours? Which Online institution would you recommend to properly equip me with fair learning experience?I'm currently considering TEFL universal
@Precimolobye
Жыл бұрын
Hi Ayanda, thank you for watching my channel. I think the TEFL course that you should choose is the one with themost hours, although most companies want the standard 120. Most institutions offer the same type of instruction. Choose a recognised one.
Hi hi just wanted to ask with the recent update of the cost of our passport going from R400 to R600 how much is it gonna cost to send our jet programme application to the embassy via post office 🤔💔
